Spirit Loose in Mobile Home?

Posted on June 15, 2010

I live in a mobile home and in, what is now, the computer room, a marine killed his wife in the middle ’80′s. I have experienced a medium sized shadow. It’s always a side view and it’s sloop shouldered. It comes from my left, like walking through the front window. It continues on until it’s behind me. I wouldn’t look until one night, I got really irritated and swirled my chair around to face it but there was nothing there.

In my bedroom, I read before going to sleep and always lay on my right side. On more than one occasion, I’ve felt like someone sat on the foot of my bed. From mid calf to my feet would sink down as soon as this happened. One night, not too long ago, I sat up and told it to go sit somewhere else. I have not experienced it since.

My husband, who had fell asleep on the sofa was awakened at approximately 3 am by the sound of a vacuum cleaner running in the computer room. He thought, to himself, “what is she doing vacuuming at this time?” He thought it was me. He got up, went down the short hall to the PC room and could see under the door that there was no light coming from within. As he told me, “I took a deep breath, opened the door, quickly, and flipped on the light switch. The noise stopped but there was a freezing gust of air that came from the room. Flipping the light off and slamming the door, I took off to the living room, turned on the TV and it was breaking day before I could sleep.” Now, he’s definitely not a believer in such things but will admit, to this day, that this happened.

Many more eerie things like my bedroom door, which was shut tight, opened and slammed against the closet. My husband and I looked at each other and got up to see. Sure enough, the door was wide open. It was definitely closed and the knob would have had to be turned to open it. Then… we have what we call ‘our little disco ball.’ It’s about the size of a soft ball and really bright. It seems to come from out of nowhere and rolls toward the short hall that leads to the computer room and disappears. We never mentioned it to anyone and one night, my sister and her husband came over. My brother-in-law was sitting on the sofa when I saw him look down and with his eyes, actually followed it. I ask him if anything was wrong and he said, “I don’t think so.” Later, that night, he told us what he saw. It was, indeed, the “disco ball.”

Surprisingly, none of this frightens me. (Didn’t like the shadow thing.) However, hubby doesn’t like to discuss it. People can believe or not. It’s their choice. I KNOW!

    good story

  3. Pete says:

Hi Nancy, your disco ball sounds like it might be an orb, not one of those dust orbs,
a true orb gives off it’s own light, maybe someone with more experience in such matters
could help out here. thanks for sharing your story.

well at least nothing bad happened to you too.maybe you look like the wife of the marine.do you know why he killed her?if the shadow scares you just tell it to go away.look in the light thats were you belong.thanks for the story.

Hmmmm….. how long did you live there before this started? Did you move the mobile home to the spot that it is in? I always wonder why things start when they do. IF you had remodeled; or IF you had a preteen or teen in the home or IF someone had just passed away those could be triggers to strat the activity. So my first question is when did it start? You can always do a house cleansing with sage using smudge sticks…. right now I wouldn’t be too upset but IF things escalate THEN I would really recommend a cleaning ceremony… thanks for sharing! 7. Shopie says:

Hmm….this sounds like a mystery….I think it may be the ghost of the marines wife who, he killed in the 80′s.I suggest that you, your husband, your sister and her husband, should stay in different rooms, and withen an hour or so meet up in the living room and disscus what you saw.If you see the ghost, try talking to it, and reasoning with it.Ghosts have feelings to you know.I hope I helped you out there!

  8. Kind Skeptic says:

You can cleanse your space w/ buring sage and reclaim your environment, telling them they can either leave and move on, or they can stay provided they do not harm, bother or scare you or anyone who visits your home. Give them the rules, and often, they will respect your authority and claim over your space. Good luck!
