We moved to Fulton County, New York in the mid 1960′s. One of the first neighbors we met lived a mile up from us. He was an old gentleman of almost 90 years old, he lived with his wife and they always had about five or six of their grandkids living with them. Him and my father became good friends.
From the beginning he would tell us about what he called a Ghost Light, some times he called it a watch light. On a number of times when at his farm we would witness the light for our selves. According to the old man, it was a tale told him by his grandfather 80 years before, that if you spot a ghost light like the one on his property, and managed to follow it to its source you would find buried treasure.
After awhile of watching the light, me, my brother and the old mans grand-kids went to the field where we saw it on a number of nights. But we never caught the witch light. Some times we would get very close and it would just disappear. Some times we would split up and try to surround it, but we would meet in the middle and no light. It used to look like some one was walking around with an old kerosene lantern. We used to see it from time to time, up until the old man died. Then it disappeared for good.
My father used to say that the old man finally caught the ghost light and that was why it was gone. This is a true story, I know, I was there.

More Cool Stuff About Ghost Lights:
Accounts of these strange lights go back to before Biblical times… when people felt they were getting a message from God or higher beings. These weren’t generally attributed to ghosts… rather it was believed that something celestial or divine was at work. In the tenth century A.D., one of the first English Kings known as Edward the Martyr was quite possibly murdered by his own stepmother. It is said that a year after his death, the sky over the area where the body was supposed to be hidden lit up with a strange orange light that almost seemed to be a ball of fire.
Ghost Lights | Origins, Legends, Well Known Sightings and Science
i’ve heard of alot of places that have these lights. people are still trying to figure them out. i personally would like to think of them as paranormal!!
After seeing this with my own eyes I would tend to think of the paranormorl myself. Or I always thought of a type of being like a Leapracon.
What an interesting tale!
