Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I haven’t had too many encounters with the paranormal. I’m sort of a skeptic. I work as a home health companion and I have a lot of downtime when I’m at work. I usually research odd topics of interest to pass the time.

One day I worked first shift (which is the longest shift, 8 hours). During the downtime for that day I sat outside and researched ghost stories to pass the time. I was reading one that pertained to sleep paralysis. I had never experienced this so I was fascinated by what people had to say about it.

The lady I take care of has fits at night when no one but her daughter is around. According to her daughter (I am updated daily) her mom tried to get out of bed at night knowing she can’t walk claiming that someone told her to get up. Recently Sue (the daughter) talked to a psychic thinking she could diagnose the problem and hopefully fix it. According to the psychic there was an older man and a young girl in the house. I have never had experiences with them but when I’m doing household chores I get weird feelings and can’t help but to stop and look around the room. As soon as I know that no one is around, I continue my daily routine. It’s eerie and unexplained.

I have been working for these women about 7 months now and the feelings seem to get more intense. I am at their house every day for several hours. I walk into the house and feel the tension. Sometimes it even follows me home.

I don’t remember my dreams when I do have them but lately they have become more vivid and real feeling. Normally when I have nightmares I dream about zombies taking over the world or trying to eat my face. Something normal from watching dawn of the dead too many times. But lately they’re getting too real.

One night a few weeks ago I was so scared I left my house and drove 30 miles to my sister’s house. I had had a fairly good day hanging out with my family and a few close friends. I went to bed happy and woke up freaking out. I don’t remember much of the dream but from what I can remember I was surrounded by black figures. Demons? Ghosts? I don’t know but it was too scary.

When I woke up I felt I was still in the dream but awake at the same time. I felt this cold sensation on my left side and then a sudden pressure on my chest. I tried screaming in hopes that my mom or step dad would come in the room and snap me out of that terrible state. Nothing. Then I seemed to actually wake up and I could move. I was breathing deeply and sweating something fierce.

Now every once in a while I’ll be getting ready for class in the morning and I see this man walking around my yard. Last night my mom and I were sitting on our back deck and we heard footsteps.

Could any of this be related to the ladies I work for? My mom and my sister also take care of these women. Could the older man and the young girl have followed me home? If so, how do I get rid of them? I am Christian and a firm believer in God and this experience is really testing my faith.
