True Ghost Tales

Just days after I turned 10 years old, I found out my grandmother had passed away. She was thought to have died in her sleep from either a stroke or heart complication (she had a heart condition we were aware of) the same night she and her husband (my grandfather) came back home from a trip.

It was the very beginning of the school year, the month of September and my parents, brother and I had to travel from Michigan to Quebec to attend my grandmother’s funeral. But it was not long until several strange occurrences began to happen.

One day during our stay in the condo, (which is where they lived) my mom had hung a bouquet of red roses upside down on the wall in my grandparent’s bedroom to dry them out. The next morning, my mom had noticed that the roses were placed on my grandmother’s bed faced up. She then had us go to that bedroom and asked if one of us had placed the roses there. I know for sure that I wouldn’t have done that. Everyone else denied putting them there. I would imagine that since no other paranormal experience has happened there until my grandmother’s death, that it had to be her who did it to show us she was still there.

A few other happenings took place during our stay in my grandparent’s condo. One happened when just my mom, brother and I were by ourselves there. I happened to be in the living room playing by myself when I heard a noise as if a glass was being set on the kitchen counter. I went in to check and see if it was perhaps my younger brother who was helping himself without permission. However upon entering, there was no one to be seen in the kitchen. I know I heard it from the kitchen because the living room was right next to it. I ran to check if anyone was in the other rooms, like the dining room next to it, then my grandparent’s bedroom or bathrooms but no one was there. Scared, I ran all the way on the other side of the condo where the guest bedroom was and my mom and brother were there. I told them what had happened and my mom brought up as a joke that it could just be my grandmother.

Another strange thing that happened during our stay was when my mom was in my grandmother’s room. She was sitting at my grandmother’s old desk, which had the phone and lamp on it. My mom said that she was on the phone when out of no where the lamp had turned on and off two times with out her or anyone else to touch it.

Something I can also remember is that at random times, my grandmother’s bed had a human shaped crease in it as if someone invisible was laying down in her bed. The only thing I can think of to explain any of these experiences is that it is my grandmother’s spirit.
