Haunted House In Kentucky

Posted on December 5, 2007

When I was a little girl I used to live in Anaheim, California. Unfortunately, my father lost his job as a producer for movies. It was about a few months later that my grandmother died and had left him her house. Our whole family moved in straight away because we had no attachments in California anymore.

When we moved in it was quite a big house for Kentucky so of course me and my sister were excited to be moving in. We chose our rooms and we ended up choosing two rooms next to each other. There was a dumbwaiter from the kitchen to our hall.

Two nights into us living there things started to get a bit strange, like the stairs made sounds, not creaks but actually like someone was walking up and down them, the windows would open and close when there was no wind, my sister swore she saw her dolls fly across the bedroom, the dumbwaiter would go up and down when no one was pulling it. These are just some of the things.

The main thing was when we were all eating dinner and the ghost of an old woman actually materialized right in front of us and screamed ‘GET OUT!’ I thought it was all a dream, but then I asked my parents and sister and they also said they saw it.

We just left it alone but it kept haunting us, like in the mirrors she would appear and tell us ‘to leave or else’. It was quite scary.

My mother came down with a chronic illness no one could diagnose or cure because no one knew what it was in the 1920′s so she died a few weeks later. We moved back to Anaheim straight away.

Was my mothers death coincedence or curse?

    Hello Amelia

I would hope that your mother’s death was a coincidence. However, I do believe that it is possible for spirits, or ghosts (There are many types of spirits) to affect a persons health, as well as their sanity.

Thank you for sharing your story with us. I hope to see comments from many of our readers.

We liked your story but it seems a little fake. Who would stay in a house if they heard a woman say get out, I mean seriously. Sorry about your mom.

All the stories on this site seem sooo fake. Where in Kentucky was this? The stories are just completely vague and very unconvincing.

I liked the story, but I too think it sounds a bit fake.

The ending bears a strong resemblance to Bell Witch of Adams , Tn.
