Wedding Day Ghost
Here is another older photograph that was taken in 1942 at a wedding, hence the nickname “Wedding Day Ghost”. Many people believe this photo shows a ghost in the trees behind the newlyweds. Who is she? Could it be that she is a past love interest to the groom? Perhaps she is angry that he is getting married.
What do you think about this “ghost picture”? Is this really a ghost that we see which seems to be flying from out of the tree branches? Or is it just an optical illusion, an exceptionally detailed example of pareidolia?

ahhhhh it looks like someone who escaped from the mental institution, gosh that is so weird, if you look closer at the last photo doesn’t it look like it’s giving the middle finger? Their marriage was already doomed! I wish my mom wouldn’t have thrown out those pic of the ghosts that appeared in the window of our house!

I think the calm, pleasant ones are almost kind of comforting. Like maybe there are people looking out for you. The angry ones make me think they would hurt you if they could!! Very scary.
I agree completely! If you look closely, it looks like it has a very long “snakelike” tongue, and sort of a pig nose. ewwww
Yes this is the real deal caught on film… this is one unhappy ghost and yes I can see the middle finger but don’t really think the ghost is flipping off the camera! Scary picture! Wonder if this couple ever lived happily ever after???

Looks to me like somebody’s up in a tree with a toga on, look at her legs. To me it looks like she’s standing on a branch, might even have a rope tied to the trunk of the tree and around her waist but I’ve been wrong before.

How can you tell? Is there a way?
I’m tempted to say this is fake. It’s nothing to do with the picture of the ‘ghost’ itself, but the position of the photographer. The couple are not centre in the picture. The camera is deliberately to right of the couple to get the tree in the shot. The picture is pretty spooky, but I can’t think of any other reason why the camera is positioned to the right of the couple. It literally looks like someone is just jumping out of the tree.
That ghost like creature is not normal looking. OMG!! I wouldn’t like 2 see one of those in one of my pics. makes u wonder abt the things amongst us though.

You are SO right! I didn’t even think about that! Makes you rethink the whole thing! Great job!
I minored in photojournalism and so I had several photography classes. Professional photographers do not place the subjects in the center of the shot. They teach you to have them slightly to one side. Another thing to consider is that whoever scanned the original photo (no idea who) may have cropped it some.
I’m not saying that this means the photo is a genuine spirit/ghost as I personally tend not to believe that ghosts can be captured in a photo (I could be wrong of course!)

Im not sure what I think on it being real. It is certainly creepy tho,man my wedding is coming up. I hope I dont see that in the pic’s lol.
Caretaker, good point about the photo may have being cropped in the past. Didn’t think about that. I still think the image of the ghost looks too clear and detailed. Most images of ghosts in photos are not like this. Like I said, it literally looks like someone is just jumping out of the tree. It would be interesting to know more about the couple though. I wonder what they thought when they saw the photo. If they were a young couple in 1942 I suppose there is a chance they might still be around.
I am curious about that too David. I have done some searching but havent been able to locate any details about where the photo was taken or who the people are. I am hoping that someone comes alonf here who knows a bit more and shares it with all of us.

She looks scary, but maybe those expressions are of fear, she might be falling out of the tree. lol. on another note, she could be jealous of the happy couple. if anyone finds out who the couple were, do tell.

This pics, is like everyones saying, scary … there isnt many pictures of ghost who can scare me, but this one took the price … by the way, mabye its jus’ me and my imagination, but doesnt it look like the “ghost” have a evil cat jus’ above her head. look very close, jus’ above her head, and u’ll see it. mabye its the branches or something or like i said my imagination … any way that creeps the picture even more …

not sure about ghost shots either, but could be a passed relative, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, who just wanted to be present at wedding and just came out looking creepy, with no actual creepy intent. ghosts may not be photogenic
im a true believer in the paranormal but i think this is fake. It just looks too much like something out of a horror movie. And she looks like if shes jumping out of the tree. I think someone used photoshop or something it looks too real. I wonder if the couple has had any experiences with this ghost or something. Even though i think its fake its pretty scary.
i beleive that this apparition caught in this photo is real , beacuse there is no way that ucan look up a picture of ghosts and crop in the picture , so for me it is real
