I personally don’t know how to begin my story but I was standing outside my house on the walkway up to my porch at night (like I do every night), taking my dog out to use the bathroom.
As I was waiting for my dog to do her business, I noticed something moving from the corner of my eye. I swung my head to my right and saw a human figure’s shadow that reached the top of my neighbors second floor window.
As I unconsciously ran to my dog, picked her up and flew up the porch stairs, I noticed it began to walk towards the backyard. In the midst of me noticing this, I yanked open the screen door, and ran into the house.
Now to go into more detail: my neighbor’s house and mine are both two stories tall and a good 15 feet or so apart (I’m not going to go outside and measure it). In between our houses is a street lamp at the edge of the curb which shines against the side of my neighbors house a little bit.
I went outside the next night again while taking my dog out, and decided to “investigate” what I actually or believed saw. The street lamp was on as always, so I went in between both houses to see where my own shadow would stand up against my neighbor’s house… I’m about 5’5. When I saw that my shadow wasn’t up to par with the not even 1/4 of the house I knew something was wrong.
If I get closer to the house my shadow would be just as tall as I am. If I got further away by standing next to my own house, my shadow got smaller.
I’m truly at a loss for words when it comes to what the shadow was, but it was something. Nobody’s shadow could’ve reached that second story window. I think it’s impossible.
Now that I think about it, the shadow didn’t seem to move until I started to run into the house. It makes me wonder if it was watching me that entire time I was out there.
Of course on the night I saw it I told my parents: They think I’m nanners and their use of sarcasm wasn’t delightful either, but I know what I saw.

you know what you saw. try filming this shadow. try a evp. you might get a answer. there could have been buildings there before the houses. good luck
wow.that would of been a little freaky.have you seen this shadow thing again?if not then maybe it was something else but if you saw it again then do a little more investagate take pictures.i dont know.thanks for the story and good luck.
Scary! I am glad you had enough sense to grab your dog and scram inside! Do you know your neighbors well enough to ask if they have seen or heard anything unusual, especially at night? Could have have POSSIBLY been the shadow of a tall tree???? I am just trying to rule out everything here…please be careful!
I know how u feel. I got attacked by the “shadow hat man” I woke up in the mid of the night and i was sleeping in the living room. My bro was awake watching a show that i hate so i went into my room. my door was shut, and tv off. it was summer so u could still c everything in the room. well im laying on the bed and i can’t sleep (cuz when i wake up it takes me a while to sleep again) I look over to my left to see a 6ft tall (estimated) shadow of a man w/ a top hat and trench coat on literally walking around in my room. I thought i was imagining it so i shut my eyes. I then felt i was in danger so i opened them again and he was standing over me. He bent over and started chocking me. I was paralyzed and couldn’t breath. I tried to scream but had no voice. He whispered something in-human in my ear then disappeared. I basically ran out of my room crying. I tried telling my parents and bro but they think im nuts. my bro even saw me run out of my room crying. I still see him sometimes and he still attacks me (almost killed me a few times) u don’t need to believe me tho a lot of ppl don’t.
wow 0.o now THAT is just creepy…WOW. just wow…i feel sorry you…I’ve always wanted to see a shadow person before…just not that guy.

I’ve had the same experience and when i told a friend, he linked me here and i was astounded by how similar our experiences were. Except mine took my face and slammed me into my pillow, attempting to suffocate me. And i could see his eyes and mouth… everything else was in shadow.

I believe you saw a dark shadow figure. It sounds like you live really close to the neighbors house (close enough to tell if the person was solid with detail or not). To tell you the truth, I have seen a dark shadow figure in this bedroom that I’m sitting in (out of the corner of my eye and head on). I was scared at first but it has never tried to hurt me or gave me any reason to be afraid. It’s nice to have a website where you can talk about your paranormal experiences and not be judged as weird or “abnormal”

Yeah, entities often tend to do that. They play with your mind and your psychology. But, do not film it. For the proof of it shall haunt to kill you.
My mom had an experience like this lastnight…she went outside to smoke a cig she was almost done with it when she looked at a tree closest to our house and saw a shadow fly from the tree to the house…she asked “why cant i see you” nothing happened so she came in side right as she shut the door and took two steps the power shut off then came back on. my stepdad checked the breaker and it was fine. Idk if that last part is paranormal but i believe my mom saw something and it answered her question.
Crazy, when i was younger. like 8 or 9 i stayd the night at my cousin’s house and they live
directly across from a grave yard. and that night me and my cousin was playing around talking about goin in the grave yard. and then he got tried and went to go sleep with his mom. and i slept in his sister bed. and i wooke up in the middle of the night i dont think it was a dream. and i seen a lil boy about my age like 8 or 9 standing there lookin at me but i cudnt see his face or anything. it was a dark shadow looking thing but like a human. i thot it was my cousin so i told him to get in the bed and i just stood there looking at me and i kept sayn my cousin name and when it didbt respond. i put the covers over my head and when i woke up it was gone ! i keep tellin ppl this stroy but nobody till this day believe me. and im 18 years old now, i have other things i experience but i think i would save thoes stories.
Well guys, i am not 18 nor 20 or even 30. I’m actually 40 years old and love your website. I have a real scary story to tell you. When my little boy was only 6 years old, he saw a luminous figure looking at his brother who was in the crib. This was in the middle of the night. To this day, he’s still very afraid of the dark. It completly terrified him.

well i have a story to tell everybody i liked this paged 2 as everyone else, i have this entity or evil spirit or however you want to call it.. the thing is its out there in this weird world that can only get to u in your sleeps, it takes over your mind really your life n it gets and haunts whoever you kno or knows by you, really crippy sh*t i dont know how to stop it i think with my mind during my sleep im scared to death at this point writting this, i repeat its true i just hope it goes away since i feel im the only one that can make it go away, i think its been g=following for over a year now but now it got really bad i bless the souls who read this n believe in God and evil dont f*ck with no shadoow or call noone from the dead cause they will come to haunt you God Bless you and me
