Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I just recently turned 29 however when I was 15 I was attacked by a shadow figure while sleeping.  I remember it like it was last night. I just read somebody else’s article about a similar attack and still have chills on the back of my head. Here is what happened to me that night;

I was sleeping upstairs in my parents house sometime in November or December and often slept with the window opened because it was always hot in my room. I heard voices, more like whispers, coming from outside my window. I woke up thinking it was some of my friends wanting me to sneak out. I soon realized that it wasn’t quite human voices talking to me. It almost sounded like voices do when you talk in a fan and there were faces, several of them, but I could only see their heads out of the corner of my eyes. When I tried to look at them directly they would sort of turn away and disappear. They kept saying “It’s coming! It’s coming! Don’t let it inside you!” For some reason the entities that were seemingly trying to help were familiar to me and somehow I knew what they were talking about.

It was dark in my room. The street light shined in a little but it was still very dark. I looked at my door and a very dark shadow, almost smoky in appearance, started coming up through the bottom of my door. It didn’t have a figure at that point, but I had very high ceilings in my room. It then slowly rose above me and slid behind me while I was sitting up. I put a pillow over my face because I thought it was trying to take my body over as its own.

All of a sudden two shadowy (if that’s even a word) arms wrapped around my face with such force it felt like a punch right in my face. The pillow I was using to try and stop whatever this thing was from entering my body was now causing me to suffocate. As soon as I thought I was going to die everything stopped,  the pillow fell on my lap and I took several large gasps of air. I immediately turned on my lights, TV, and shut my window. It was sometime between 3 and 4:30 in the morning.

I didn’t tell anyone because I didn’t think anyone would believe me. It wasn’t until several years later when I was visiting home over the holidays from college and drinking with my family did I say something to my mom about what had happened to me that night. To my surprise she told me about a few paranormal experiences that happened to my younger sister but nothing like I went through.

Another thing that started happening to me shortly after this encounter is I started getting these strong vibrations in my sleep, almost deafening vibrations and paralysis and if I was awake late at night I felt like I was being watched in a sinister manner. I would get so angry, not scared that something was watching me. I would curse or walk up to where I thought it was and tell it to leave, but I always got the feeling it was laughing in my face which made me feel helpless.

The strange thing from this whole experience is that since the event I’m not the same as I used to be. I constantly find that I have a short temper, paranoid, and very moody. Furthermore, my best friend growing up who used to basically live with my family at that house developed a rare case of respiratory cancer and passed away when we just turned 22. I know this sounds irrelevant but I have heard that evil entities can harm your health.
