Historical Home in Maryland

My husband grew up in a historical home in Maryland. The home is spacious and creepy. There has been at least 4 deaths in the home that I know of: My husbands grandmother passed away upstairs in the back bedroom, his older brother passed away upstairs in the first bedroom, his father passed away in the living room and his mother passed away in the kitchen.

My mother in-law passed away in the kitchen of cardiac arrest last year. My brother-in law is the one who found her. My hubby and I rushed to Maryland from Virginia the same night she passed and stayed with his brother at his home.

The next day we went to his mothers home to clean-up and prepare for her funeral. At the home was me, my husband, his brother and his brothers girlfriend. We went to the basement to look around at all the junk from their childhood (his mom saved everything). While we …

The Demon in the Mirror

I’m only 16. When I was much younger around five years old. I lived in a big house. There was this bathroom on the second floor. That was my bathroom all to myself. All four of my brothers also had their own bathrooms. Anyway I seemed to be the only one having problems with mine. At night even sometimes during the day. When I would use the bathroom. The man would appear in my mirror. He was, I have to admit very handsome know that I remember him. I never asked for his name. Really I never talked to him… Just listened.

He had shoulder length black hair, black eyes in the day, and he was light skinned, Caucasian. His black eyes were sapphire when it was night. Yea I know weird. Anyway he would come to me either in the mirror above the sink or so that I could see his whole body he would appear in the door …

Four Strange Car Incidents

Looking back in my computer spirit log, I found the following four strange incidents which happened to me while I was driving my car:

11/12/2000… I felt a tap on my right shoulder as I was driving my car this afternoon.

2/6/02… On the freeway on my way to work this morning, I have to say I was driving too fast and too close behind a car. All of a sudden it sounded like someone threw something really heavy onto the top of my car from an overpass… but I wasn’t under an overpass. I thought maybe a bullet had hit my car. It was a very loud bam. I looked at the top of my car when I got to work, but couldn’t see anything. I was expecting to see a hole or a huge dent where something had hit it. But there was nothing. It is so easy to attribute whatever happens to my spirits… but I am …

Imaginary or a Real Ghost?

I am 19 now and it’s been six years now that my imaginary friend talks to me. I don’t know if she’s real or not but I’ve got a distinct feeling she’s an old woman. She follows me everywhere. How do I know? I can sort of feel another presence with me even when my friends aren’t around, she’s there with me. Walking beside me and for some reason I have the tendency to turn my head to look in just one direction even when I’m with my parents, she seems to be offering suggestions and her opinions.

I named her Kanna and she always suggests things to me as if she’s coaching me. She’s been around since I was thirteen. I don’t know if it’s just my imagination or if I’m just panicky, but I feel something watching me at night which makes it hard for me to sleep sometimes and to support this tale a bit, my family …

Capture the Flag

I’m too young to remember Pops, he died when I was only two or three. I have very few memories of him. All that I can really remember is walking down the front hallway of his house, with him sitting at the end holding out his arms saying “My little redhead.” Pops wasn’t my grandfather, but our families are so close that he might as well of been. Nana and Pops, my two babysitters from when I was little. Nana and Pops were married for a long time before he died, Nana is still alive.

I’ll still go back every so often to visit Nana (who, by the way, is still babysitting) or to help her with the kids. One day, about three years ago, I was over at her house helping out. The kids all wanted to play capture the flag but it was pouring outside. So Joel (him and I where babysat at the same time) and I …

The Little Ghost Cat

I’ve experience some really strange things in my life but I’ve never truly believed in ghosts to be honest, but I have an open mind so I don’t dismiss things so quickly.

I’ve always thought it would be cool to see a ghost but its not something I think about from day to day, my story starts a few months back when my boyfriend moved into a flat. It was a pretty old house which had been split into an upstairs and downstairs flat.

When my boyfriend moved into the flat he wasn’t allowed to keep any pets there which meant that he had to leave his cat back at his old house.

Within the first few weeks of moving in he was settled into the downstairs flat and I would sleep over at the weekends. One morning I was in the bedroom just sorting out some clothes and things and I saw a tortoiseshell cat sat on the floor …

Sharing Haunted House Stories

After helping my in-laws move to a smaller house, we sat around talking and relaxing; just glad everything was in the new place. One of the younger kids made the remark, “I hope this house isn’t haunted too”. We all looked at each other in amazement. My father in law said, “I thought I was the only one that knew that house was haunted!” We all kinda looked at each other as if to say, “it wasn’t just me who knew it?” That started a freefall of various stories we all shared. It seems everyone had their own tale to share.

For a brief time I had lived in a small bedroom in the basement of that house. One evening I distinctly heard the kitchen door open and close and then someone walking down the stairs. I waited for whomever it was to come to my door. When no-one did I just assumed it was someone doing laundry instead. After …

Pediophobia the Fear of Dolls

Traumatizing past haunting experience and new ones.

Ok, so, let me start off by saying the event I will talk about first was very traumatizing for me (I was 6 at the time) and left me with extreme pediophobia (Pee-dee-oh-PHOBE-ee-uh) which is a fear of dolls that in 7 years I still have not gotten over. I had gotten a cabbage patch kid for my birthday. Everyone thinks these thing are “sweet” and “adorable”. Well, I beg to differ. That night I slept with my back to the TV in my room. The cabbage patch kid was in my arms. Sometime during the night I rolled over, and the cabbage patch kid was behind my back.

Well, I had what I call a “night terror,” which is what I use to describe a very strong and scary nightmare. In it I was being carried by the ghost of a woman down the stairs in my hallway to the basement of …

Ghost in Shreveport Apartment

When I was young, back in the early 60′s, we moved to an apartment in Shreveport, Louisiana. It was located on Main Street about 3 or 4 blocks from the river bridge that goes into Bossier City. This was the location of my first ghostly experience.

To this point I had never been frightened of the houses we lived in and we had lived in a few. My dad’s job changed locations every 6 to 8 weeks and we would move across a state or across several states to the next location.

This apartment was the creepiest and located on the 2nd story. The activity started the day we moved in.

The first thing was an old hand that would reach around the door and grasp the door knob. We all saw this at one time or another and thought it was maybe strange lighting from the outside. Dad got up a time or two and checked to make sure …

Eerie Dream About My Dad

My dad died about 25 years ago on Christmas Day, and although I think of him now and then, I have never had a dream about him until recently. I rarely if ever record dreams I have because I don’t consider them paranormal, but this was special since it was the first one I ever had about dad. Following is what I typed into my computer log.

“6/4/10… I had a strange dream which I can’t interpret. I was watching John Edwards on TV last night and they were talking about how your loved ones sometimes appear to you in a dream. Well, this morning I had a dream about dad. He was standing, almost kind of leaning, against a light colored, a little bit dilapidated  brick wall. He was dressed to go to work. However, dad wore a plaid flannel shirt and green work pants to work but this dad was dressed more like he was going to an …

Multiple Ghosts

I never used to believe that houses could really be haunted until one early morning my dad woke up to a clattering noise. He is a light sleeper and insomniac so he since he was up for the day now, he decided to check it out. He met my brother in the kitchen. They both heard the noise and wanted to know what it was. They looked around and found out that there was a spoon in the sink. This could easily be shrugged off as not paranormal, but in our house there are no cats, no mice, no rats, and no reasons why a spoon should fall in the sink at 5:00 in the morning.

Ever since then small things have been going on in our house to make us believe in ghosts more and more. Usually it’s my dad that witnesses these events because he stays up the latest. Most of the activity happens between 11:00 P.M. and …

My Strange Encounters in Hundred Year Old House

First of all, this all happened somewhat of a long time ago, but it is still fresh in my mind.

When I was growing up, I lived in a hundred year old house, and my parents were separated. I was living with my father. We had many cats, but I don’t think they were the reason for unexplained noises.

When I was sleeping in my bed, sometimes when I was little, when I woke up I would crawl in my father’s bed. His room was closest to the laundry room. He often fell asleep quickly, as he listened to a radio with earphones. But I took much longer to finally sleep.

We had a washer and dryer, the washer had a top lid, easy to open, while the dryer had a side lid, with a “latch”. When I was trying to fall asleep, I would hear the washer’s lid open, and drop. Open, and drop. This only happened a few …
