Hauntings in My House

Posted on March 29, 2010

I’ve only lived here over a year and nothing has happened, until now. One night, around 1:00 am, I was the only one awake and I was in my room. I was on my computer when I heard something like a TV being turned on, and I heard the voices of the TV. I figured someone couldn’t sleep and decided to watch TV so I went back to my computer. About 30 minutes later I decided to go to sleep but I had to go to the bathroom. I got up, walked out of my room and peeked in the living room to see who was up. I wasn’t even in the room, just peeking in the doorway when a cold chill ran down my spine, like someone was watching me. The living room was pitch black and no body was in there, but the noise was there.

I bolted into my parents room and told my dad to turn it off, since I was too scared to go in there. He turned it off and I asked him how it turned on. He said my little sister (she’s two) must have been playing with the radio (turns out it was the radio being turned on, not the TV) and set the alarm. I went to bed thinking, my sister’s way too short to reach the radio, and nobody would set an alarm on it, so it must have turned on by itself (ghost, I know, but I didn’t really know what to think of it at the time).

The second experience happened to my sister. She told me one day, and this is how it went. She was lying awake in her bed, on her back looking at the ceiling. She was thinking when all of a sudden she was flipped over on her stomach. She said that what flipped her over scared her, (she’s nine) even though she didn’t see it. Knowing my sister, she wouldn’t joke about something like this. I can tell when she is lying and I know for a fact that she wasn’t when she told me that.

My third experience happened not long ago. I was babysitting my sister’s. The youngest was down for her nap and my other sister was playing on the computer in my parents room. I was in the kitchen, on the other side of the house, doing dishes. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a man wearing an old suit (I know, weird) and a top hat. He was staring at me. I turned my head more towards him to get a better view. Surprisingly, he stayed there. He kept looking at me, like he was fascinated at what I was doing. He was smiling at me, just watching. I worked up the courage to turn more towards him when he took his hat off and bowed at me. He disappeared. That was only a week ago and I’m still getting used to the fact that there’s something in the house.

I haven’t told anybody about this, and have no idea if anyone else has seen him. I don’t even know why he’s here. Our house isn’t that old and neither is our neighborhood. Maybe our house was built on top of where his used to be. He seems friendly. The thing that happened with my sister might not have been him, or it might have. I don’t know that much about him or what he’s doing here. But what I do know is that something is in our house and I plan on finding out more about him.

My comments name: ilovejonasbrothers. Thanks, I’ll keep you updated.
