When I was a teenager I was friends with a drummer in a local band. He and the other members of the band had rented a house in the older part of town.

One day my friend told me that the band had an out of town gig and asked me to house sit as there was some very expensive musical/sound equipment. I agreed to do so and stayed to watch the house. Before I went to sleep I checked every window and door to make sure everything was locked.

I went to sleep and was awakened by the sound of children running and playing through the house, I could hear their laughter. I got out of bed instantly, I was worried that some neighborhood children had somehow gotten into the house. I was angry that their parents would allow them to run wild at 6:00a.m. I searched the house calling out to let them know I was there. I went back to the bedroom feeling very confused as the kids had been very noisy and now it was silent.

Suddenly I could hear the children laughing and running again, they ran right past me and I could feel a swoosh of air as they did. Problem was I couldn’t see them. I was shocked but wasn’t scared which even I find to be surprising. I didn’t hear anything after that.

When my friend returned later that day I told him what happened and he said his room mates has seen and heard things that were unexplainable and had joked that the house was haunted.

I researched the history of the house and learned that in the 1920′s a woman and her 4 children had died there due to a gas leak. They had all died in their sleep. I believe they continue living in that house because they don’t know they are dead.
