Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

Okay, sorry for the lack of thought put into the title, but I honestly didn’t know what to call this… Okay, so, for at least 13 years of my life, my Grandparents had lived in a house in an old (But not TOO old) house, it wasn’t in a remote location, it was on the outskirts of a major market town (Romford, Essex. For those interested).

Now, I’ll get straight to the point, this house was creepy. I’m not going to jump to conclusions and say it was haunted, although I will say, me, my two older brothers, younger sister, both cousins, mum, dad, step-dad, uncle, Granddad and Nan have ALL had one or more paranormal encounters within the house. From as early as my Uncle being a child there, to a few months before they moved house. I won’t go into detail as to what they were, but they’ve ranged from strange, unnatural noises, to actual sightings, to objects being moved/tampered with.

Anyway, about 3-4 years ago (I’m now 17) they moved quite a distance. Roughly, about a year after they moved I started having frequent (But NOT recurring) dreams about the Old House. Some would be inside the street outside the house, in the garden, or the house itself. And strangely enough they would also result in something horrific and traumatizing happening. From being dragged across the living room floor, before entering the kitchen being woken up, or sitting in the garden during a light thunderstorm, and not being able to move from fear. And many more. These didn’t happen every other night. They happened maybe Once every couple of months? But I haven’t forgotten a single one.. I stopped having these dreams for about 6-7 months? And I thought it was finally over, and I could sleep easy again. But, recently my nan (Not the nan that used to live in the house, but my dads mum, the nan who lived there was my mums, mum). Had suffered a heart attack, fell down and broke her hips, leaving her legs completely impaired, useless and unmovable until she has them operated on, and recovers.

Now, on Monday night during my sleep, I had fallen into another one of these dreams for the first time in a while, I remember playing in the street, and I somehow knew I was meant to go to my nans old room, but was too scared to enter the house. I remember looking up in the street towards her room and seeing numerous white faces looking down at me, although I could not see the faces as everything was moving so, so fast, I thought instantly to myself of my brothers. And I don’t remember entering the house, but next thing I know I’m opening my nans bedroom door and on it was laying my nan (The one in hospital, not the one who used to lived there) And horrifically her legs were missing, up to her hips and I can’t recall looking at them and looking at what was there, but it all appeared as black dirt covering her dress where her hips started. The weird thing is, she didn’t look in pain, and I wasn’t overcome with fear at this point. I recall we just spoke, on and on, but the one main thing she told me, was “Be a good boy” (This is a common theme with my Nan, me and my mum and step-dad are consistently arguing to hell, all day everyday, and whenever I see my nan, she would always tell me to be good) and at this point, it was morning and I woke up.

It played on my mind during the day at College, (Oh, and I just thought I’d add this was on my birthday I had the dream. Not really sure if that’s relevant or not, just thought I should add it… ) And whilst at my girlfriends after College I got a phone call from my Dad, who was at the hospital with my nan (He see’s her everyday there) He wished me a happy birthday and what not and made small talk, and then passed me to my nan who did the same really. Once passed back to my dad, I asked how nan was doing since I’d last visited her, and he said slightly better, but he told me she was going into an operation on her hip Thursday (Tomorrow) And I was kind of glad, because I thought it was a result, as the doctors were worried about operating on her, so they must’ve been okay with it now. But my dad had told me there is a chance she would die during the operation (Apparently because of her age, and her heart condition, considering she had just suffered a heart attack. There is a chance the anesthetic during the operation could cause another heart attack) And the chance if Medium – High.

So, really, I’m just wondering if any of this is supernatural? Or my sub-conscious is just piecing together some of my thoughts and made that dream, and its in no way tied to reality? Any responses would be appreciated, thank you.
