Drama Club and the Ouija Board

Posted on November 2, 2009

Seven years ago I was in a small town Junior High Drama Club. The weekend before our performance we decided to stay the night at one of the girls’ houses to practice our lines and hang out. (No boys were in our Drama Club: small town) Before I begin to tell about the events of that horrible night I must first tell you about the house.

Dee Dee’s mom, (I’m changing the names) had a fascination with ghosts. She had weird paintings on the wall and every thing. She also had the little Hallmark Villages set up all around her living room. They were strange. Dee Dee never said anything about her house being haunted or evil though. And it didn’t feel haunted when I first entered the house. I would soon find out how very wrong I was.

We started out practicing our lines in her Basement/Garage. We soon got bored however and started telling ghost stories. I really wasn’t into the story telling because I had experienced the real deal many times at my best friends house. While they were talking I was busy looking at the paintings on the wall. It was kind of creepy. I needed to go to the bathroom so I went upstairs. When I returned Dee Dee was standing on a chair in the hall closet trying to get something.

“My older sister was playing this game the other night with her friends. She said it was fun. It’s not as cool as a wooden one but it still works.” She said as she placed a folded board on the table. when she opened it I froze. I’m a Christian and I knew what this “game” was. In reality it was no game at all. It was a Ouija Board. And I knew it was evil.

“Come on” she told us. we followed her up the stairs to the living room. They turned out the lights and set it on the coffee table. I told them I refused to participate. They didn’t really care. I watched for ten minutes and then went to her room to watch Spider Man. After about an hour they got bored with it and came to find me. I felt a very heavy feeling around me but I didn’t say anything.

Soon we all settled down in the living room. One of the girls named Penny grabbed my arm and asked if we could talk in the other room. She told me she felt guilty about playing and wanted me to pray with her. I did and we went back to the living room. All the girls were asleep. We laid down. That’s when the Grandfather clock in the room chimed. This wouldn’t be a big deal except that it was going off every five minutes. We started to get a little freaked out so we went to the kitchen and played Life the board game to keep our minds off it.

Soon Penny had to use the bathroom. I went with her because she was scared to go by herself. We were finished and washed our hands. I turned off the faucet and turned to leave. we glanced back when we heard a squeak and watched as the know slowly turned and the water came on. I turned it off and ran back to the living room. The Little Villages, which had been off all night, were on. The lights were all on in them and the mobile things were moving. I freaked out and unplugged the cords from the multiple outlet. The room went quiet and dark. Five minutes later they turned back on. We were really scared now.

“What did you guys ask it?” I asked Penny.

“We asked it to come play.” She said tearfully. I couldn’t believe it. I hadn’t played and yet it was happening to me while the other girls slept. We tried to wake the girls up but none of them stirred. it was like they were drunk. And things kept happening. The Paintings of the ghostly figures rocked on the walls. TV kept switching channels. We ended up hiding under the kitchen table with blankets and a flash light. Everything settled down and we woke up still under the kitchen table.

We told the rest of the group what happened. Only a few of them believed us because they remembered us waking them and seeing the lights in a hazy state. Later we told Dee Dee’s mom but she just told us we were making it all up. (Later we found out she just didn’t want our parents to be mad at her.)

Our Drama Club ended up having more experiences but I won’t go into those stories. I just want to warn everyone that Ouija boards are dangerous and evil. if you see a friend playing with one run!

man people have bad experiances with these boards, but some believe if there is no and never has been a sighn of spirits the ouija board wont work. ive never played it because i believe if you have not done any bad sins you will not have reason to get haunted. say as if it was a good spirit like a dead relative you will enjoy the presents it was just to bad a good kid like you got stuck up in all this mess. stay against it and stick to your religion :) !

Thanks for the story Chelsea. I too am a Christian and proud of you for not playing. It truly is no game. Although you don’t need one of those boards to get in trouble with that stuff. Stick to your guns and again thanks for sharing.

  7. Lori says:

nitin……if you truly are a christain you wouldnt use a ouija board that invites evil demons in

  8. trolldoll1681 says:

lori is right. true christians don’t believe in spritualism. a ouija board is considered to be something a satanist would use for conjuring demons. i doubt angels can communicate thru a ouija board!!!

  9. hammy scrammy says:

I am a real christian more christian than all of you. I live by the word of god stop spreading lies about me cause your sinners. I like my ouija board its a gift from god it let’s me communicate with god and his angels so stop being jealous

There will be no arguing here about who is and who is not a Christian. Lets all try to judge our own selves and not others.
