Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

This will be a fairly short story but I will do my best to keep it accurate. The following event occurred somewhere within 2003-2005 when I was around 10-some years old.

I was at my current home years ago with my 6 year old brother and my 15 year old cousin, who was babysitting us while our parents were out running errands.

It was about 11:00 at night, and we were in the living room watching TV. I turn around after something alerted me (I do not remember what), and see a large, dark figure that resembled a solid shadow moving from our bathroom to my bedroom, and when I say moving I mean floating about 2-3 inches above the ground. Immediately I probably made some sort of noise from the shock, a yell, scream, something), then told my cousin and brother what happened, and they turned around as well – the figure actually manifested itself again, this time moving from my bedroom to my mother’s bedroom.

My cousin and little brother screamed as this happened and chills ran up and down my spine.  My cousin and I went into the kitchen and grabbed large knives then went into each of the rooms to see what was in them – absolutely nothing.

I had never seen anything like this inside of this home before, and I have never seen anything here since, although sometimes when I am at home alone I have the distinct feeling of being watched, and rarely noises as if something is being disturbed will occur – but probably are not related to anything paranormal.

My home is not an old one, as it is in a suburb and has likely only had 1 or 2 owners with the most tragic event being a chicken overcooked in the oven, and like I said this is the only thing paranormal-related that has happened here.
