Blain’s Imaginary Friend

Our family has had several ghost experiences, but this one is about my cousin’s son who had an imaginary friend.

This cousin and his wife moved into a house in Fort Wayne, Indiana that was owned by our great aunt. Their son Blain was three at that time. They would hear Blain talking to someone all the time and playing house or having a tea party. They would ask him who he was talking to, and he would say his friend.

They thought it was quite alright that he had an imaginary friend and thought nothing of it, until that was all he wanted to do, and strange things started to happen. At times things were not always where they left them and the attic door was always left open.

Nikki, my cousin Troy’s wife, would often smell women’s perfume when she walked into the boys room or where he was playing with his friend. She got upset about this and started to ask Blain questions about his friend. He told them that his friend was a young lady about the age of his mom. She had dark hair and skin and was very beautiful. When she asked what her name was the boy told her it was Rachel.

Time went on and he continued to play with her and she thought nothing of it. Then one day they were visiting our great aunt and the boy saw a picture on the wall of her house. He asked why she had a picture of his friend on the wall. Nikki asked him if that was Rachel and he said yes.

My great aunt and my cousin about had a heart attack. He was seeing my great aunts daughter Rachel who had died in the house 10 years before. She had died when two blood vessels in her head burst at the age of 28.

My cousin never told his wife the house’s history fearing she would not want to live there. They lived there for two years and the whole time he continued to play with her. And they became quite comfortable knowing a family member watched over there son.

Blain is now 11 and still remembers her and how nice she was to him. My aunt still owns this house and rents it out and people have asked if it is haunted. The people that have asked have children that have an imaginary friend named Rachel and report the same thing Troy and Nikki and Blain experienced.

    that is so sweet that rachel was looking out for blain. i loved your story. it shows not all ghosts are mean or evil.

    i am very glad there is one story on this godforsaken website that dosent involve human mualuitaltion i am an 11 year old meduim and this is an angel watching over blair in the form of rachel…dont be afraid

    I go with Nate on this, what a nice story for a change and i too think it is an Angel or guardian Angel.

    My youngest daughter who is now eleven had an imaginary friend for about six months. She was three at the time. One evening my eldest daughter and her boyfriend babysat for me, when i returned, my daughter’s freaked out boyfriend started running his mouth off at 100 mph telling me that my 3 yr old was walking around the flat with her hand out, looking like she was holding someone’s hand. He asked her what she was doing and she said holding Matthew’s hand. He then said, what does he look like and she replied, he has a long white dress on.

    I didn’t believe in such things at the time, but as i do now, it makes you think doesn’t it? especially when they are so young, not even knowing about paranormal things.

    Your cousin’s son is lucky to meet a spirit like that! Some spirits do bad things!

    By bad I mean BAD!!! I’m still learning about my spiritual side, though! ^___^!
