Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I’ve had a lot of strange things happen since my mother in-laws passing in May of 2009. Lately, the occurrences seem more frequent.

1. I work as a cashier at a Wholesale Warehouse in the town where I live. The store sells groceries and dry goods upstairs and furniture downstairs. It was at least 6 months ago I was working a Saturday morning with one co-worker by the name of Ann. I have a key to the building and open the store before my boss arrives. Ann and I were sitting by the register gossiping when we both heard someone walk downstairs. Ann looked at me confused and said “Who’s that going downstairs? I didn’t see anyone come in.” I left the register (with Ann watching it) and ran downstairs. No one. The downstairs is just a huge room with one Bay door (which was locked). I went back upstairs and told Ann what I had found… nothing. She was shocked.

2. About a week ago my husband decided to go fishing with his friend Roy at Roys house around 2 pm.but said he would only be gone a couple of hours. He took our son Tommy with him but left our daughter Katie with me. Several hours goes by and no hubby. I got tired of waiting for him so I went into my bedroom to lay down and watch TV with my baby. She went to sleep around 7 p.m. I tried calling my husband but he didn’t answer. I’m laying in bed with the TV on, Katie’s asleep, no TVs or lights on in the rest of the house and around 8 I hear what sounds like someone coming in the door ( I heard the screen door open, the front door open, someone walk in and close the front door). Well I didn’t get up. My first thought was “Tommy must be asleep” ‘because I didn’t hear him talking so I thought well after he puts Tommy on the couch my hubby will come in the bedroom and tell me about his day. I waited and waited. After about 10 minutes I got up and went in the living room. No hubby and no son. No lights on and no TV. I immediately called my hubbies cell phone and this time he answered. He said “I’m still at Roy’s. We just got back from fishing. I didn’t take my phone with me on the boat. I’ll be home around 9?. Well who’s in the house? The window in the bedroom is beside the front porch so there is no doubt in my mind that I heard someone come in the door. After finding no one in the house I went and got back into bed and waiting for him to get home. Around 9 I heard the screen door open, the front door open and someone walking in and closing the door. It was my husband and son. It sounded exactly like what I had heard earlier. I told him a couple of days later because it was bothering me. He said I must of been day-dreaming.

3. Last Sunday I woke up to 80 degree weather at 9 am. I work every Sunday from 12 – 5 so I decided that I would lay-out on the deck by the pool for a little while. While I was soaking up the sun my hubby said he was going to run up to the grocery store to pick up some milk. Our son went with him and my daughter stayed home with me. Katie said she was hot and wanted to play on the front porch so I said OK. The deck with the pool is to the left of the house and about 50 feet from the front porch but I could still see her. I decided to lay on my stomach and face towards the house. I’m laying there listening to the bugs and watching Katie blow bubbles when all of a sudden I hear a mans voice says “God”. The voice was unlike anything I had heard before. It sounded like a man in his late 20?s to maybe his late 30?s and the voice had an echo to it. The voice came from my left when I was facing right. I popped my head up real quick and saw no one. I live back in the woods and a good distance from neighbors. My hubby wasn’t home yet and Katie was still playing on the front porch. Remember this is around 9:30 a.m. so I’m wide awake. Well I gathered my stuff up together and got ready to head to the front porch. Before leaving the deck I said out loud ” I just want you to know that I heard you”. I have no explanation for this happening. The voice was very clear and the tone of the word was neutral (not cheery or sad).

I know everyone who reads this is going to think I’m a nut but I’m not. I’m just a 29 year old woman that is able to hear, feel and see things that I shouldn’t.
