Hi I’m Rochelle. When I was young my family decided to move out of our house and get an estate house instead because our mortgage was too much.
My brother, who was sixteen, saw something first. It was late at night and my second eldest brother was sleeping in the top bunk while my eldest brother was at a girlfriends house to sleep over. I must have only been about six years old at the time and was fast asleep next door. My brother was lying on the top bunk when he felt the urge to have a cigarette. Right in front of him was a massive window with shabby curtains, so he opened the window. Once he was smoking he noticed from our back garden lots of figures in grey rising to his window. He was so scared he chucked his fag out the window and shut it closed. That wasn’t the last encounter he had either, but the next times were different.
One time (the same brother) was asleep in his room on the bottom bunk this time, when he saw long bony hands trying to reach out for him through the wall. Petrified he moved up to the top bed. But just as he was about to go to sleep the bunk bed seemed to be moving up to the top of the ceiling and slamming down on the floor. He decided to go downstairs and think about everything that had happened. But just as soon as he sat down on the sofa he felt like he was sitting in a freezer! Shaking he decided to call my mum, who at the time was at an old peoples home.
When he called her he was crying and was telling her what had happened, but she said there was nothing she could do about it and had to go. So, too scared to sleep back upstairs for the rest of the night, he decided to get out of the house, on to his scooter and sleep at his mates house instead.
About a year passed and my mum was down stairs in the lounge with me. She said she wanted to put my hair up and for me to get a band to put it up with, this was in broad day light. I went upstairs to get to my room. Just as I got to the first stair I noticed a figure looking down on me. He had what looked like a brown leather jacket on. I also noticed he had a small rope around his neck. Petrified, I ran back down the stairs without the band telling my mum I didn’t want it up.
Everything immediately changed when we moved into a new house on the other side of Guernsey. It was a little cottage and I felt really cozy in it. One day my mum met the next door neighbor who lived in Rue Jhannet number 12, we lived in 11. She said that apparently a family had once lived their and the wife had had an affair behind his back. He decided to hang himself in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Apparently he liked children. I think that’s why I saw him, but what puzzles me is what was the other things that were seen by my brother?
