While stationed at Fort Carson Colorado, in 87-88, my girlfriend and I had fallen asleep on a friends apartment floor. Around 0330 hrs (a.m.), I woke up to see an older guy in an old fashioned shirt, with the sleeves kind of rolled up, old style pants circa 50s or 60s. He was standing across the room looking in our direction. He didn’t give a bad feeling, just looking. I thought this strange but fell back to sleep.
That morning our motor pool was off and was to meet at the Denny’s in Colorado springs, for breakfast. We had an old Chevy pickup truck at the time. On the way to the diner our brakes gave out, and I had to break through traffic and I hit a post at Denny’s which brought the people out of there to see what had happened.
Roughly at the same time this was going on our friend Mona, the lady who let us sleep on her floor, woke up to see a guy somewhat matching the guy I described earlier. He told her that Becky and I were in trouble, which freaked her out for two reasons; 1 - because she was our friend, and 2 - who was the guy? She did a search of the apartment with the doors locked. There was no man to be found.
I found out later while doing my genealogy that the man matched my great grand fathers description, who was dead by many years, I found this real interesting.
