This is a story I wasn’t sure I wanted to tell. I was afraid that if I told it, it might make it more real. God knows I didn’t want it to be real.

I wish I knew how to start this. It began in November/December 4 years ago. I was a freshman in high school then, and now I’m a senior. My younger cousin usually spent the majority of her time at my house. I was thirteen, she two years younger. On this particular day we hung out with my eldest brother. I want to be clear I try to call myself a good Christian however sometimes I go astray. When I was in elementary school I met one of the loves of my life, Crystal we grew up together, did everything together, I didn’t have a sister so she was it.

I’m 40 years old. I have played with the Ouija board many times in the past with friends and had never had a bad experience. I always thought it was just for fun.

I was curious about two things a necronomicon and a Ouija board and I used both around the same few days.

After I used the necronomicon things started happening such as a photo of me being knocked over and this thing would call my name using his voice which was in a growl or in my gram’s (Grandma’s) or my Dad’s and he would use their voice and make them sound as if they are angry with me; and at night I would hear heart beats and sometimes a feeling of being choked.

I know its going to sound weird but I believe that someone’s curse has manifested itself upon me. I have always been in tune and open minded both from a religious and scientific aspect in spirits. I am no where close to frightened by paranormal happenings. I have many but I would give one for now I feel I should tell as an introductory one.

We were talking about the nature of devices such as Ouija Boards and just who, or what, the entities that are encountered by users are. Are they the spirits or souls of the dead? Are they demons? Perhaps they are interdimensional beings?

Okay so personally I have had many, many encounters with things I’ve seen to be paranormal as did my mum when she was younger.

Some stories she’s told me have been mainly about hauntings in houses she’s lived or things associated with Ouija boards, where as I’ve experienced visions/dreams of things to happen before, my best friend when I was younger and I some how used to think we would hear each other speak exactly what the other was thinking when we heard it.

But one story that I will remember vividly is a run in I believe I had with a ghost.

When I was fourteen, I was watching my younger brother while my mother was out shopping. We were watching TV and my brother was slowly dozing on my lap. At about 8 pm it was dark out and I was just about to carry my brother to his bed.

Just when I stood, I heard something crash from the second floor. Like a box or something. Being too terrified I ran for the phone to call my mom or the police. I called my mom first. First of all, I just want to make it clear that I am very, very skeptical on all this stuff. Like 99% of all ghost stories are easily explained, but this has always baffled me.

I’m an agnostic at best when it comes to God and demons etc. I think whatever is going on in life or death, its far more amazing than anything any religion says. In my view, but everyone’s entitled to theirs and I respect that.

But ghost stories etc. interest me, and I found this site so I figured I’d contribute.

Anyways, my family come from a city called Winchester, in Hampshire (England). It’s one of the oldest cities in the UK and it’s supposedly very, very haunted. Over the last thousand years give or take, it’s bee the site of many battles and obviously seen a lot of history.

I used to not believe in ghosts. The thought of anything paranormal or thought of as ghosts or whatever was a silly notion. My mom used to really be into the whole witch/ghost thing. She had a few experiences and never liked to talk about them. She had a book shelf in our living room and the last 3 shelves had a bunch of books about the paranormal and things of that nature. I have a Ouija board story. In 1998 while living in Houston, Texas my sister and her husband came up to visit from a small out of town city where they were living at the time. Being one who likes to try different restaurants, and given the vast number of famous restaurants in Houston, my sister wanted to go out to eat a nice dinner. Ever since I was little I sensed an evil spirit watching me. One night I was just nodding off when I heard my mother screaming, I was only 7 at the time and I was terrified. I ran down the hallway to go into my mothers room but there was no way I could get in. It felt like something strong was holding the door so no-one could get in. I think that maybe when I was younger I was more in tune with the paranormal, or just simply frightened, so I became skeptical and rationalized everything.
