Ouija Board Story from Houston Texas

Posted on February 21, 2011

I have a Ouija board story. In 1998 while living in Houston, Texas my sister and her husband came up to visit from a small out of town city where they were living at the time. Being one who likes to try different restaurants, and given the vast number of famous restaurants in Houston, my sister wanted to go out to eat a nice dinner. She picked one in the “Galleria”, a famous mall in Houston.

My sister is also an avid Barbie doll collector and noticed a famous toy store across from the Galleria. Apparently the toy store has Barbie dolls that are hard to find, and she wanted to go in and take a look. While there, she bought a Ouija board. She is also very superstitious.

After dinner we went back to my apartment and she immediately opened the board. Myself, my wife and my sister sat at the table to try it out. My brother-in-law would not participate. So, we all lightly placed our index fingers on the board as the instructions say to do, and thought about a question to ask. I had recently taken a test and was waiting to get the results in the mail. It took up to 6 weeks to get results for this exam and it had been about 3 at this point. I wanted to know if I passed so we asked that question. “Did Mike pass the test?” The pointer went to Yes. We then asked what I made on the test.

The pointer went to the 1, the 0, and the 9. I thought immediately that this was a hoax. How could anyone make a 109 on a test when it was impossible to score more than 100. Thinking this was a mistake we asked the same question again. The pointer went to 1, 1, and 9. Now I knew this was a hoax. It was a completely different number than before.

A friend and two others had also taken the test. We asked if my friend passed. The pointer went to Yes. We then asked what was his score? The pointer went to 1, 0, and 3. We then asked if the other two passed the test. The pointer went to No on both of them. Since this was obviously a hoax I went off to bed because I had to be up early for work the next morning. My sister and my wife both stayed at the board.

After I was in bed for a short while my sister and my wife both came running into the bedroom screaming. They said they asked who the entity was and it spelled out S A R A H, who was my grandma that had passed away. The girls then got scared and put the board away, and then threw it in the trash the next day.

After about a week the testers were able to call into the national hotline and find out if they passed the test in reference from above. My friend and I both passed. The other two did not. When the paper results came in the mail, I had gotten 119 questions out of 150 correct, my friend had gotten 109 correct, and you needed to get a minimum of 103 questions correct to pass. I have never messed around with a Ouija board since then. They are real.
