My family have experienced all sorts of things when they were younger, and I seemed to have inherited a sort of “sensitive” gene. For example my dad saw his mum after she died, and his dad saw his grandmother after she died, and Mum and I have experienced feelings of being followed or watched etc.

But this is my story. I was born in England and then moved to Australia. My grandparents and uncles, aunts and cousins live in England still so we traveled back to visit them. We decided to stay in the Falstaff hotel in Canterbury which seemed really nice at the time.

My mum and I were really tired so we decided to watch TV in our room. Mum had dropped off to sleep and I was still watching TV. I suddenly got really tired and turned off the TV and got ready for bed. As soon as I laid my head on the pillow, something said…

It all started with a tour of the Macomber Hotel in Cape May. The tour guide had said that room 10 was haunted, and that many odd sightings occurred. My Aunt Teresa and Aunt Ruthie were in that room! We were a few doors down! Since I was really little, I can’t remember how I felt. Did I even know what a ghost was? I probably didn’t care.

Anyway, nighttime soon came. An old lady died in the hotel, so… I climbed in bed with my mom, being about two years old. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling a strange presence. I sat up in bed, and saw it – a white ghost, with honestly no shape at all, white yet transparent, black, deep eye sockets, and its mouth open in an oval shape. It was just sitting at the end of my bed, looking sad and very depressed – the old lady! Since I was…

Before this experience I myself was a skeptic – not believing in any ghost story – however this has changed my opinion completely.

Me and my friend Becky work at a hotel which was built on top of an old hospital, used during the war to treat injured soldiers.

When we were working late one night, we heard squeaking coming from the corridor. However, when I checked to see if anyone was there, the hall was empty. The noise sounded as if it passed right by me but there was nothing to be seen. We found that past employees had heard the same noises.

A month later an advertiser was in taking pictures of the hotel. When the pictures were developed we were horrified to see a man with an army uniform in a wheelchair looking round the door to the lounge into the very same corridor.

The manager then decided to tell us that a guest reported that her…

The team was investigating the haunted Georgetown Hotel and one of the staff captured this photo of a ghostly figure which seems to be looking out a window.

The picture was shot by Holly DeLaughter on Dec. 8, 2007, so it is barely a few days old as we publish it here on True Ghost Tales.

The picture you see here is scaled down. Visit the link below to see the full size ghost picture.

I invite everyone to return to this page and post a comment after you check out this ghost picture. Let everyone know what you think about it.

Hello, here is my story. My parents and I went to Toronto for a week because my mom had broken her foot and needed the hospital there, I was 13.

We stayed at the Delta Chelsea there for a couple of nights, and on the 3rd night I believe, I woke up in the hotel room and I saw a really dark figure in the corner of the room leaning over my dad’s part of the bed and moving around, like he was packing. I figured it was my dad but something wasn’t right.

So I called to him “dad?” over and over again but he didn’t even look at me. Then on the eighth call I woke my mom and she yelled at me. I ignored it and I asked very worried if dad was still in the bed with her. I heard my dad grunt and sigh and I looked back up at…

Did you see Stephen King’s The Shining? The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado (About 45 minutes away from Boulder) was King’s inspiration for the movie. The hotel has been reported to be haunted be a few ghosts.

The Shining wasn’t shot at the hotel even though many people think it was. When King began work on the novel he actually locked himself up in room number 217.

When the Stanley Hotel opened it’s doors in 1909 it was the only hotel anywhere in the world to have electric power. The hotel was originally owned by Lord Dunraven and was later sold to Stanley Steamer inventor F. Stanley.

The ghost of Lord Dunraven has been reported to haunt the 4th floor. A lot of ghost activity has been reported near the bathroom door of room number 407. Hotel guests have also reported hearing child ghosts playing and laughing in the 4th floor hallway.

Just wanting to get away for a few days, my daughter and I headed north to Eureka Springs, AR. It’s been a goal of mine to visit the Crescent Hotel for many years.

The first thing we do when we arrive in Eureka Springs is get directions to this fabulous hotel. As we drive into the parking lot, I can already tell this is going to be an adventure. I grab my digital camera (with extra batteries) and start taking pictures.

We planned to take the “Ghost Tour” that night, but when we started to sign up, ‘something’ told me to wait, do this tour the ‘next’ night instead. So we went for a carriage ride that night, outside the Crescent Hotel. The ride was fun, breezy and very informative. (We were told a lot about the history of Eureka Springs). When our ride was over, we tried taking some pictures, but they were…

Submitted to us by Deyhonn Christine Brown

Every year my mum’s side of the family would have an annual family Christmas Party. Well, one year in 2003, we had it in a hotel called the Midway Hotel (Best Western) in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

Like I said in the previous story, the Creepy Haunted Antique Porcelain Doll, my cousin Vanessa and my sister Hannah are like best friends and we all get along quite well. Any way, I was walking around looking for the game room (because that was where my sister and cousin had been). I was standing on a stair way leading down to where the pool was, and I saw this man in a very formal suit walking towards the doors (they were those swinging doors).

I was assuming that there was a wedding reception going on, until he turned around. His face was all deteriorated and he moved his fingers as if he wanted me to follow…

Rogers took a look at the Rhymney House Hotel and talked with the owners and others who were familiar with it.

The current owners believe that there is definitely a presence in the 19th century hotel. Some say that the ghost is that of a pregnant maid who had committed suicide.
