Southern Belle Ghost Sighting
It was Friday the 13th and my wife and I though it would be a good night to take a trip to the brick church. So we made the trip with some close friends.
Strangely enough by the time we got out of our cars another group of people from nearby Bishopville showed up. We all got acquainted and went into the graveyard. Not much happened, maybe there were too many people and too much commotion to take notice to everything.
My brother-in-law and another close friend said, there was a small dark figure next to the tall narrow cedar tree to the right of the path. Then we made a second entry into the cemetery just my wife and I, my brother in law T.J., and two other friends.
About halfway through the cemetery we all notice the graves had a strange glow. It was an almost white, almost blue glow. After we noticed this another strange sight got our attention. We looked down the path and seen a dark outline of a figure about 5'6" to 5'7". It was about 15 feet past the tall cedars.
We looked in amazement not knowing whether to run in terror or to stay seeing how this was our first time ever witnessing something this clear. This, I don't believe was the southern-belle, but another lonely spirit.
As we watched it moving closer, my wife froze almost if paralyzed. Fearing for my wife, it being only her and I after our companions already made there way back to the gate, I grabbed her. She was tense. All of her muscles were tightened. She was stiff and motionless as I picked her up and began running.
About 30ft away from the gate she let out a scream that I will never forget. I looked back and saw a light colored figure behind us no farther than 3ft away. Then my wife, Lisa stopped screaming and started crying. she said "she grabbed my hand".
While I was still running I seen someone blocking the gate, I yelled for them to get out of the way and I pushed someone out of the way.
When we got up to the church she described what she saw: A woman wearing a torn white dress, smiled and gracefully moved toward me, it was like her feet weren't even on the ground. She had dark hair, and her eyes were green, she was pale, and I screamed when she got up to me, but when she grabbed my hand, It felt so peaceful and I began to cry, her hand was so cold, but my body felt so warm, until she let go. Then I felt like I was about to pass out, I felt exhausted.
It works better when you go in a smaller group. Things are more noticeable, and keep the flashlights to a minimum. Try to turn them all off when you get to the tall narrow cedar trees
