Past Lives is it Possible?

Is it possible that some people have lived more than once in a different lifetime?

As a child I used to have these very vivid dreams of Egypt, at least I think it was Egypt. There were always pyramids and laborers everywhere. From what I can remember, I lived very well.

My grandmother told me that she would have these dreams also of living life in Egypt.

I’d like to know if this may be what I was experiencing. It hasn’t happened in a while, as I don’t sleep very well since having children and lots other factors in my life. Is there a way to finish these dreams when I have them again?

  1. Hi Shy,

I am not sure what you mean by more-than-once in a different lifetime. I’ve had two lifetimes in Egypt, both in the Isis temple, one as a priestess and one as a bitch .. but also a priestess. Let’s just say, I was not very nice in that lifetime. Do you mean two lifetimes in the same site?

Also, we generally always reincarnate with members of our soul family, so your grandmother and you might have shared an egyptian lifetime, with reversed roles .. you might have been the grandmother in that case. Do you know who you were in your dream?

Another question .. what do you mean by ‘finishing the dream’ .. since it hasn’t come back for a while, you might never have it again. Was it a horrible dream?

  2. Hello Shy!
Your first question: “Are Past lives possible?” In my honest opinion, yes, I believe they are. Is it possible to have lived more that one past lifetime? Absolutely! Your dreaming of a past lifetime in Egypt could possibly be because that lifetime is affecting this lifetime in some way. The fact that your grandmother dreams of Egypt too, leads me to think that Ama is correct, that you and your grandmother shared that lifetime. There are ways that you could possibly delve further into that lifetime, but it may not always work. If you have an open mind and can suspend disbelief, I can explain it to you.

You see, we plan out each incarnation before we are born, but not down to the very last detail; only the major and important events in that lifetime. We plan our lifetimes for learning purposes, or to repay Karma. If you don’t already know about Karma I will explain; When we do good in life we are rewarded, when we make mistakes or hurt others, we need to repay that Karma in this lifetime or in another. Your lifetime in Egypt may very well have some Karmic impact on what is going on in this lifetime, therefore bits of that lifetime may be bleeding through to, maybe, signal you that an important Karmic event may be occurring. There is a chance that, if not forced, more memories may come through, or Ama may be right, and nothing more comes through. There is also the possibility that this could just be a memory coming through and nothing more will come of it. If you are really fascinated or perplexed, you can have a past life reading done, but mind you, you may not get and in depth reading of each and every lifetime, just the ones that are pertinent to this one. Best of luck and i hope you find your answers!!!

  3. How would you find out of you had a past life? Is there a way to dig up old memories?

    • Hi Jamie,

Yes there is. Simple things like – places you are drawn to around the world – you just ‘had’ to go, and when you got there it ‘felt’ like home. I did that in London, even directed someone on how to find a street I had never heard of before .. and I was right. Then there are foreign foods you find you absolutely love (or think .. no, that’s tastes wrong?), although you’ve never had it before, some of your dreams can be of places and events that seem incredibly familiar, but also from the past .. there is also choosing to do meditations, guided in a way to let you link to the memories, and regression therapy, where you go and see a psychologist, or psychiatrist who does this and have either meditation or hypnotherapy .. its a legitimate treatment for certain psychological illnesses, such as phobias that have no reasonable other cause.

All around the world people experience past life memories and see them as a normal part of their lives .. the Indians certainly do, and there are some Cathars all living in England somewhere. They remember their Cathar lifetime, before the church murdered them as a group. It’s really not that unusual.

    • Some people go to a medium or specialist in past life regression, where they can be hypnotized and regressed back to a past life. Then there are others, who can take some basic information from you and do a regression for you. You can also try by asking your spirit guides or guardian angels to allow you to dream about a past life to give you insight. Mind you, You may not be given full information about every past life that you have ever lived; you will more than likely be lead to those lives that are pertinent to the life you are living now. There are others here who can go more in depth about this. Actually I think Lucid dreaming can possibly help with this, as there have been some who have been able to regress to past lives doing this, but I am not the expert; there is a frequenter here named Siddle, who knows all about lucid dreaming and can tell you, with certainty if it is at all possible! Best of Luck!!!

  4. Hello Ama,

So, what you said about places I’ve always been interested in, well, this may be a coincidence but I’ve always been very fascinated in Egypt even before I read this, and this has just made me more interested in learning more. I was watching a movie a while ago about the Israelites in Egypt and while watching it, I had like a sudden feeling, like, I realized that this really happened, and there was also like, an awe at everything Egyptian. I was absolutely breathless. I could imagine (could these be memories, or just over-active imagination?) walking in bazar-like markets, inside houses, going down to the Nile to get water, but the thing that stuck with me was the market place. Do you think this means anything?

    • Well Jamie, with one belief system there are no past lives, so its all your imagination .. and with my understanding, we all have past lives .. and I chased a couple of mine and found myself first in London, then Egypt and then Scotland ..

In London I gave a man street directions to a place I’d never been to .. in Edinburgh I was dejavuing so much it made me dizzy .. but I ‘still’ couldn’t understand the language LOL, so I don’t think I had been born there. In Egypt I stood beneath the pyramids and wondered why it looked so small and dingy now .. I remembered it white and bright and capped with God .. and FAR FAR away from the city.

Perhaps you too have had an Egyptian lifetime or two. I know I have.

  5. Hello Ama,

I really meant just a past life. These dreams were always reoccuring throughout my childhood and teenage years. I remember feeling very dominant and looking out to the people. I never worked but always saw others working. That makes me feel a little uncomfortable. As a young child after having these dreams, I would write poetry vividly from the dream. I am very drawn to ancient egyptian artifacts and feel a yerning for my past history. My grandmother still has these dreams from time to time. Growing up, I was always very close to my grandmother and we are alot alike.

    • Sounds like a past life to me Shy. We remember them because they have an influence over what we are learning in this lifetime, so consider the similarities between your two lives, and that might help you understand the lessons in this one.

  6. From my researches re-incarnation teaches that a person spirit never actually dies. The physical body of a person may die but their spirit or essence only goes on to live many different lives housed in different bodies including animals. However, the bible does not teach this.

The bible teaches that there is no consciousness in death. This means that the dead knows nothing and is not aware of what is going on in the world of the living.

PSLAMS 115:17 – The DEAD PRAISE NOT THE LORD, neither any that go down into silence.

ECCLESIASTES 9:10 – Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for THERE IS NO WORK, NOR DEVICE, NOR KNOWLEDGE, NOR WISDOM, IN THE GRAVE, WHIETHER THOU GOEST.

ECCLESIASTES 9:5-6 – For the living know that they shall die: But THE DEAD KNOW NOT ANYTHING, neither have they any more a reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. Also there love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion forever in any thing that is done under the sun.

Christianity teaches that the dead is asleep in the grave waiting for the resurrection and only God can wake a from a death.

EPHESIANS 5:14 – Wherefore he saith, AWAKE THOU THAT SLEEPEST, and ARISE FROM THE DEAD, and Christ shall give thee light.

I THESSALONIANS 4:13-15 – But I would not have you ignorant, brethren concerning them which are ASLEEP that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

II PETER 3:4 – And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell ALSEEP, all things continue as they were the from the beginning of the creation.

1 THESSALONIANS 4:16-17- For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and the with the trump of God; and the DEAD in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are ALIVE and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

DANIEL 12:2 – And many of them that SLEEP IN THE DUST OF THE EARTH shall awake to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

    • Hmm.. and yet Jesus said .. “Elijah is himself again ..”

But that’s ok, I’ll continue with my eternal spirit ..

      • I think the Bible has several references to the “idea” of reincarnation or past lives and I am convinced that the peole of Jesus day did believe in the concept

        • They did, CT, it was part of the Gnostic teachings, among other groups, some of them calling themselves Christian, like Origen’s. :-) Other Christians tried killing it, but they never succeeded.

          Guess what I found: :-)

          • Yep! I knew that and it is all part of why I do believe that reincarnation is very likely. In fact I am convinced of at least one past life that I led as a “Native American” (I hate that term but folks will know what I am talking about and I will not call them “Indians”).

          • It’s generic CT, I don’t like it either, but we have to identify them somehow and I don’t know all the group names. I was Dineh once.

Thank you for your reply. I read the bible and yes I believe in God. I also know that the bible has been past down through centuries and written by man. Throughout my life, I have always gone to church, but despised how some church goers believed that other should worship God. I believe that my relationship with God is just that, MY RELATIONSHIP with GOD. Do I believe in the bible? Yes, I believe in what the bible stands for. Is it possible that the word is concrete in the happenings of the bible, like Jonah living inside a whale? No, a whale has a digestive system. I believe that many things in the bible have happened and where written by those who remember and other stories are meant to speak to us in a way that we can apply it to our lives. Lessons to learn. They are teachings is what I believe. Could the bible be right about death? Sure, maybe, but it doesn’t explain the phenomenons that happen day after day, all over the world of the dead being seen.

I know that God sees my heart, and with that, I know that he understands me.

    • I know God knows me too, Shy. That peace resides within my heart all the time.

  8. Ama, since I have come to what I believe through all the confusion others want you to believe, I have found peace in that. I talk to God everyday and I am relieved that I know that my bond is not reliant on what others say I should believe. Thanks.

  9. Sorry for bumping here two months later, but I was searching over the internet about this. Since I know myself I’m in love in Egypt. And not like other people, like for example: Wow, that god Anubis is cool, half dog half man! Or: Egyptian warriors’ rock!
I was always in to their daily life, I wondered how they looked, their big, elaborate black wigs, and their wonderful dresses and collars were a fascination to me. Their temples, houses, I always depicted all that as a human perfection. Their religion was so strong that I searched about their gods for months. In high school I had some version of final, where I had to do a research and write about something that I wanted. That final had to have more than 50 pages and had to be very professional. I wrote about Egypt in New Kingdom, and I got an A and my history teacher was fascinated how much I know about ancient Egypt. What I’m trying to say is that I love Egypt and I believe in reincarnation. When I was in Budapest in a Museum, while in front of an Egyptian relic I felt something, I felt some weird connection, like a fugitive feels something when he is near a symbol of his land.
Also, when I was traveling with my friends in a train a fell asleep and it was one of many dreams about Egypt, but this one was the most realistic. I dreamt that I was standing in a courtyard, and in front of me were people. They had huge black wigs, white dresses and red belts. The women were slender while men were strong. They held sistrum and I swear I felt the Sun on my skin that was shining through the clouds and I felt the smell of incense! The crowd was waiving with palm leaves and then I saw a man with a nemes crown and a woman walking near him. They passed through the crowd, near me. They were chanting something, everybody was chanting. After them a bald man were walking with a big brown bull, which was decorated with flower necklace. Behind them were other royal people, their clothes and jewelry was so beautiful, like from the paintings.
I turned my head to look to the couple last time and then I woke up.
My friends were with me on the trip, and they were so confused when I retold them what I dreamt.

This is my story about my similar situation, and I must say, I still believe that I was an ancient Egyptian in my past life!
(I even tattooed Horus eye and an Ankh on my body!)

    • Hello Sandro

A dream with that much detail might be ‘lucid’ but it could also be a past life. What do you think you learned, or felt, while inside that dream?
