Do Our Deceased Loved Ones Visit Us in Our Dreams?

Do you believe those we loved who have passed on can visit up in dreams?

My stepfathers father passed away when I was 17. I had always loved him as a grandfather and I still do. Unfortunately he get got cancer and by the time he called the ambulance he went into cardiac arrest and before reaching the hospital he was pronounced DOA.

He was a very strict man prone to cursing and yelling, though he never raised his hand to any family members out of anger (I guess with him being in the Navy for 30 years it gave him quite the ‘sailor’s mouth).

He just wasn’t the kind of man you could hug or tell him that you love him. I don’t know what he saw in the Navy, but it’s almost as if he locked his tender emotions away.

So after his death, I felt guilty that in 8 years I’d never told him once that I loved him, nor did I thank him for his service to our country, I never even hugged him. These things weighed heavily on my mind after his passing.

One night I had a dream that started out terrifying for me. I was that 9 year old little girl I was when I met him. But we were in a morgue, with him lying on the table covered with a sheet with the DOA tag on his toe. I remember being so scared I hid under a table.

Then he sat up and told me that there was no need to be frightened of him. For some odd reason I went to him. He pulled me up onto his lap and I told him that I love him and I always have. He told me he loves me too.

Then there was this bright white light that shone from above his head, illuminating his entire body. He told me, “It’s time for me to go.” Which the 9 year old me hugged him tighter and begged him not to go. I told him that I wanted more time with him. He gave me a sad smile and said, “But, I must go.” while prying me off of him. I woke up after that in tears, but relieved that I told him I love him and I always have.

Another time, it was a friend who’d passed away at 23. He is/was my twin daughters godfather. He also had a problem with drugs and alcohol. One night he was running from the cops (in a car) and the car rolled (he wasn’t wearing a seat-belt and died instantly). I had a dream about him except it was dark outside.

We were riding around in his car as we always used to do as teenagers. On some level I must have known it was a dream because I asked him if he’d drank (alcohol) since the accident. We stopped at a gas station and he was the only one getting out. He leaned back in the car, looked at me, and said, “I just wanted you to know what a good friend you were, you were the best and I’ll miss you.” At the time this made no sense to me because I thought he was getting back in the car. As soon as he closed the door, I woke up.

So why did my grandfather’s dream have a blinding light and my friend’s was in the middle of the night?

Ouija Board Dream?

I had a dream last night where me my mom and my aunt drive to a house that’s supposed haunted. When we get there my aunt and mom get out but I stay in the car. My aunt doesn’t go in the house but after they check the door an find it unlocked my mom goes in (she’s a cop anyway haha) buy she comes right back out after a few minutes with wide eyes and says there are trapped kids who can’t leave. That they want to but can’t that they were murdered there and that there was potatoes grown on that area bit they weren’t allowed to play around them when they were alive.

Then I get out of the car and walk in with my mom and aunt and for some reason an Ouija Board planchette is there for some reason and things just get hectic and everything’s dizzy and spinning for me but not the other two. We throw the planchette far away from us but then we’re in different time with carriages and there were two black hearse and a black carriage.

We then buried the planchette and then I woke up. I’ve never layer with the planchette or board because my grandmother did when she was younger and my mom told me not to.

I’m curious and a little nervous to find out what this dream means. Any help?

Dreams of My Grandma

I have been having some dreams since my grandma passed a few years back. My last dream of her I had a couple months ago but she had called me on the phone and kept telling me that everything was ok and to come back home to Tennessee because I’m currently living in Ohio.

I told my mom and she told me she is trying to tell me something but it was just so weird and scared me. I was 16 when she got murdered I am now 20 years old but I still dream and think I see her from time to time.

If you can help me please tell me something!

Dreaming of Lilith What Does it Mean?

Hey, first I’m female, and I was told only males usually dream of her. Last night I had a traumatizing dream that I later realized was the demon Lilith.

I dreamed of a woman killing people, mostly children. It was very vivid, and scary. It was as if I was standing by her just watching and she knew. I’m not sure what it is suppose to mean?

My friend who is into demonology told me it was her, but was not sure why I dreamed it. Help?

What Does My Dream About Being a Wolf Mean?

I had a dream a few nights ago. I have been trying to figure it out since I had the dream. I have it recorded in my dream journal. this is what I wrote in the journal:

It’s dark out, and there is snow on the ground. I’m a wolf. Me and about five other wolves are standing at the edge of the woods. All the trees are dead, (because it’s winter.) and we are stalking our prey. Our prey is about ten teenage boys playing football. They are in high school. The only light they have is one of those lights that are usually at football and baseball games, they are really bright. I could only see one boy’s face, but he was far away, and I only saw half of it. He had shaggy, light brown hair, that almost completely covered his eyes. He had high cheek bones, and a pointy chin. I looked back at the other wolves, who were huddling together, staring at me, and smiling. I looked at the football players again. I trotted to an opening in the woods, so I could see the football players better.

That’s when I woke up. It bugs me that I don’t know what this dream means. Wolves are my absolute favorite animals, but this is the first dream I’ve had that has anything to do with wolves that I remember.

I recently found out that my mom’s psychotic boyfriend, is my biological father, if that helps out at all. Does anyone have any ideas on what this could mean? If you do, help me out. Thanks.

What kind of evil spirit is that is my question?

Why Am I Failing at Lucid Dreaming?

I wonder what I was doing wrong when I tried to become lucid in my dreams. This was some years ago, but still lingers in my mind. I couldn’t find anything mentioned about or similar to what I faced. I was trying to speak in my dream and come to the realization I was dreaming. Got that. Got one of the first steps to making a dream lucid. I got the the point I knew it was a dream and I was in dream land. Then I tried to change the setting or whatever was happening. Or at least know that wherever I was wasn’t the waking world.

The problem occurred: The dream took its own life form and took control away from me by repeating itself. The scene kept repeating each time as if it was saying “This is real, and this is how the actions will go. You’re not in any more control of this dream than you are of reality”. It kept happening for several dreams, different events.

There was only one dream I can clearly remember doing something to change the sequence of events. Even then I had quite a struggle and fought a mental and verbal argument throughout that dream sequence. The force was arguing that it was in control and that I couldn’t change it. I won in that dream, though I didn’t get my full way. I wanted to end a storm completely, but had to settle with being able to get rid of the severe weather and put up with a cloudy sky and drizzly rain. Not the perfect blue sky and sun I wanted.

There was another dream I was trying to change, sort of an unpleasant one, but no matter what I did I just kept turning around and returning to the same sequence again, each time with my mind thinking “This isn’t a dream, no, *this* time it is real.” As soon as I got myself to realize it was a dream, it stopped then repeated the scene yet again. I had to give up trying to be lucid. Once I gave up, the dream let me onto the next scene and finished up without me remembering the rest. I haven’t been able to be lucid and in control of my dreams since. I can remember dreams in great accuracy. They stay in my head the same way I remember real events. Only somehow I know when a memory came from a dream and not reality. But as far as being able to stop and talk with dream characters, ask them the questions I’d like to ask them, etc, that it seems my dreams don’t let me do. If I try I fear I’ll end up with the same problem.

What is She Trying to Tell Me?

Ok, my story really isn’t much of a “ghost story” but I do need a answer to my question.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for going on four years. We have a one year old and just had a daughter who we decided to name after his mom. His mom had passed away when he was around 13 years old so we wanted to somehow show appreciation to her. Now my story starts about June this summer when I had bought his mom a urn. (they had kept the ashes wrapped in a bag and kept in a box so it was the least I could do).

Shorty after, I had a dream where I was sleeping, my cell phone had rang and on the phone was a woman asking to speak to my boyfriend, I’ll call him “D”. So I pick up the phone and she says “hi can I speak to my son.” Shocked, I answer back “umm… who is your son? who are you looking for?”

To my surprise, she says “my son’s name is D. This is “Linda” his mom” (Now I have been having dreams like this for as long as I can remember so I know when I’m dreaming something that is not possible or likely. It runs in my family both my mom and grandma and a few cousins have it, whatever “it” is) I really don’t remember what I said next but she just started describing him and telling me so many things so I would believe her. Finally I decide to just give him the phone, but before he could get it, I woke up with the strong urge to tell him his mother just called! He knows that I am a bit weird and always have something like this happening to me, but I couldn’t find myself to tell him right then and there.

I waited a few days to tell him, and he looked as shocked as I did when I realized who was calling. I asked my mom, but she was at a loss for words as well as my granny so I just asked his mom if she could please help me understand why she came to me in my dream. Of course she didn’t come right a way, but a few days ago, my dream started where it left off and he was talking to his mother. When he got off the phone he turned to look at me and when he started to tell me what was said I woke up. I am just lost and really need help! I know she wants to tell me something to tell him, but I can’t figure out what?

I normally figure my dreams out by now but this time is different. I just don’t understand why she came to me? Like he had plenty of girlfriends before me so why am I the one singled out. I don’t find it problem it just bothers me that I am stuck on this one dream… I don’t think she’s saying thank you for the urn because I think she would have said it when she was talking to me. Please any type of advise or idea will help me out! Thanks

Is My Granny Trying to Tell Me Something in My Dreams?

I’m 22 years old and I want to know if my granny is trying to tell me something through my dreams.

My granny passed away when I was 6 years old but I was very very close to her. My mother was her only daughter she had along with 5 sons so she was very attached to my mum and me also. After she passed away I keep getting her dreams quite often but she has always been very nice to me in every dream.

I recently had this dream where in all my relatives are in a wedding and I saw my granny and I am so excited to see her that I go around telling people that she is alive… nobody believed me, but later other people also saw her and that is when my dream ended and I woke up completely startled! I realized that I was sleeping sideways on my left hand and I got completely scared because I felt someone is holding my right hand. I tried to console myself saying its just goosebumps but I freaked out because it did not reduce. I ran into my mother’s room and told her I had a dream about granny and went to sleep after a while.

When I got up in the morning mother called me an asked me to explain what happened, once she heard my story she told me that she has similar experiences every now and then. She also told me not to get scared because its just my granny.

When my granny passed away there was a lot of problems regarding her death, since we are Hindus we had to follow a lot of rituals because the time and date she died had a bad influence on the house. Later the room she died in was locked for a few months. For the next few years they locked the room same time and date and nobody was supposed to stay in the house only for that period of time. I do not know know why and I feel she keeps watching me if I am alone and tries to give me other messages through my dreams.

She died because of kidney failure and she had a lot of responsibilities before she died. Is there anything I can do to help her and help myself? because I have been facing a lot of problems lately., Please do reply.

Was this God?

I had a dream a few months ago and I’ve been puzzled over it ever since. I didn’t really understand it, but it was strange. It seems silly, almost, but I really do want to know what it means.

I was with one of my friends at a church and we were listening to the preacher, but we weren’t sitting in pews. I didn’t recognize the church from anywhere, and it was knew to me. I told my friend that I needed to go to the bathroom and ventured off to find it myself.
So I wandered around for a few moments, and eventually came to this beautiful dark wooden door with a brass knob on it. I was curious, so I opened it. The room inside of it was amazing. It seemed like a normal room, but once I stepped inside, it felt lighter immediately. There was one window, a thin glass window with a four panes divided by the wood. The walls were white, and the sun was shining brightly through the window. I wasn’t able to see what was out the window though, it was very bright. The floors were a bit lighter than what the door was, and they looked worn, but again, it was stunning. I heard babbling, almost talking and saw an older man coming towards me.

I don’t really remember what his face looked like, but he was wearing brown robes with something gold hanging around his neck. He was bald, except for some gray hair that was in a ring around his head. He told me that “he” would see in a few seconds, and was talking about how he had to take down this chandelier that was supposedly demonic. He led me into this other room, and I saw the chandelier that he was going to take down. There was glass hanging off of it, and one side went farther down than the other one.

There was also a dark staircase following down someplace, but I couldn’t see where. The man told me that “he” was ready to see me, and he led me to another room, which looked similar to the first. The first man left, and the door closed behind me. I saw a man (presuming this to be Jesus, he looked a lot like him) scrubbing the floor, on all fours. He had long dark brown hair hanging in his face, but I never saw his face. He was wearing white robes, and I looked down at his fingers. They looked like an old mans, but I knew this man was young. I felt like I’d known him all of my life, and I had no worries. He said, ” Hello Shelby,” and I also said hello. He told me that he didn’t mind me being the way I was, and that it would be okay. He stopped for a moment, telling me that I had to do something, and kept telling me that. I asked him what I had to do, and I could see him smiling, he told used my name and told me that I would find out soon enough. The man from earlier came in and told me that I needed to leave now, and then I woke up.

Any thoughts?
