Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I’m wondering if my house is/was haunted or not, a few little things have things happened some could be explainable but some not. It’s not an old house and when we moved in we were told it hadn’t been a family home in a while but working people had been living here with room mates. We’ve lived here for about 8 or 9 years.

One night in the house were my mum & dad, my sister and I. Well we were all on our way upstairs to go to bed and had to pass the bathroom at the top of the stairs, my dad did so, then my mum and I was just behind my sister. We got to the top of the stairs and she got by the bathroom door, I was in front of it when a bottle of aftershave came flying out and hit my leg. It had been sitting on the toilet cistern which meant if it had fallen off it would have bounced and would have landed on the bathroom floor and not out into the hall so I believe it was thrown. For years I’d thought this was meant for me until my sister went to see a medium and was told there was something attached to her and now I’m not so sure.

Also a lot of the time when I’m in the bath I hear footsteps going up and down the stairs. After telling my mum she said it could be next door which is possible as ours is an attached house and next doors stairs would be right next to ours, but the next time I heard this I was so sure it sounded like it was in our house and I’m also positive I’ve heard them going down the stairs which are carpeted and continuing on the wooden floor in the hall. My mum also told me she’s heard voices shouting ‘mum’ while she’s in the bath but she put that down to imagination.

There was one morning when my mum was getting ready at the mirror in the kitchen while my sister and her 2 small kids were sleeping on the couch in the living room, the t.v wasn’t on but my mum said she heard a male voice saying ‘how are you doing’ in an English accent. Needless to say she tried to think of reasons as to how she could have heard this, including my sister rolled onto the t.v remote and turned it on but when my mum looked in it was still off and my sister said she’s put the remote on the floor before she fell asleep so I was terrified for months afterwards to go downstairs by myself.

I have a couple of nice but still strange stories to finish up.

My brother lived with his mum but used to come down to stay on weekends and we shared a room. As I was going to sleep one night I looked up (don’t know why, maybe I sensed something) and saw him in his bed but I also saw him standing next to his bed playing with his phone and I even saw the light from his phone glowing on his face, I wasn’t scared at all and just went to sleep. People say this could be my eyes tricking me because the hall light was on but I was so positive. I explained this to my Nana who said it could have been his spirit which I think is quite cool.

I used to have a little Yorkshire terrier dog who died in the vet’s and no one got to say goodbye because we thought he was coming back the next day, anyway my dad was on night shift and was sleeping during the day when he woke up and felt little feet walking across the bed like my dog used to and we have sometimes heard noises like his feet walking across the wooden floor downstairs. I like to think this was his way of saying goodbye to us.

We’ve not had anything else in a while and am unsure why, I’ve also recently submitted a story called ‘I Have Seen Ghostly Faces’ so you can read that if you like as it would be important in deciding whether it’s haunted or not.
