So this is another one of my friend’s ghost stories. I’m a Korean America who is currently living in Singapore. I met a friend in the school named Tomoki. Tomoki is Japanese who lived in Singapore for a long time so he could speak Chinese. Since I lived in China for 3 years we had Chinese as our code language when we went out to drink or to party so we became. I realized he actually witnessed many paranormal activities. This is one of the story told by him.
So Tomoki and his friends were having a drink in the streets in Singapore. As it got deeper in to the night, they couldn’t really drink in the streets because if they make noise and stuff, the police can kick them out and check their IDs (which can really get you in trouble if you are under 18). Anyway they decided for some reason to go to an old unguarded cemetery instead. My friend who believes in ghosts was afraid to ‘disturb the spirits’. However one of his friends, was being a normal drunk male and started shouting. The drunk friend did not believe in ghosts, and as much as I love ghost stories, I don’t blame him for not believing in the spirits. Anyway the drunk friend started shouting and kicking around.
The drunk friend shouted in a mixture of Hokkein (Chinese dialect spoken by Singaporean Chinese and Malaysian Chinese), Mandarin and English. He shouted a very insulting curse. ‘If ghost here, you come right here! I say come here!’ The less drunk people including my friend, Tomoki tried to calm him down, but he wouldn’t stop (I guess most young guys just wanna kick ass when they are drunk). He shouted once more ‘come here! There is no ghost! If there are ghosts…’ Than he suddenly froze.
He froze for a bit more than a minute. Just standing still with his drunken eyes suddenly wide open in fear. The friends gather around him. Than he suddenly says ‘We need to go ….’
He urged his friends to leave. He was my friend, Tomoki’s close friend, so Tomoki asked him what’s wrong but the drunk friend wouldn’t say a thing. The friend didn’t sleep for 2 days. Later the friend told him a story that Tomoki, who actually believes in ghosts, found very surprising.
The friend actually shouting and he saw a woman hanged on a rope (like hanged by the neck) tied to a this big tree. (Although Singapore is a big city it has lots of trees due to its humid tropical climate). The woman who was hanged was actually looking straight into the drunk boy, with a light horrifying smile.
The guy didn’t sleep for 2 days and when he finally slept he had a weird dream. He saw the ghost and the ghost said to him ‘do you wanna marry me?’ For a long while the boy was scared of the night and strongly believed in the so called ‘spirits’ and ‘ghosts’.
