Why Why Why?

Posted on September 27, 2011

One night when I had gone to put my 9 month old baby in her bed she wouldn’t stop crying. I tried everything. My mom was over at my house helping me with Mara and she saw me trying to get Mara to sleep. She told me to let her just cry, sometimes that’s the best thing you can do for her. So I left and was reading in my bedroom and had her monitor on when I had heard that she had finally fallen to sleep. I turned off the monitor and went to sleep.

In the middle of the night I heard the monitor go off and heard it saying “why, why, why,” over and over again. I was scared to go into Mara rooms so I had my husband Milo go for me. He went in her room and saw that the rocking chair was rocking and the window was open (before the windows were closed and the rocking chair was still.) Mara was sound asleep in her bed but facing a different way than before. We moved to a new house because of this experience.

To this day I wonder who was there and why they were saying ‘why’ over and over again. I think it was Milo’s mom who had passed a way several years ago. She never wanted us to get married and never wanted us to have kids. She didn’t like me and thought that I was wasting my time with Milo, but we never listened to her and decided to get married and have kids. I think she is angry because Milo is her only child and we now have 2 and 1 on the way.

I hope you believe this scary experience with my child. It is 100% true. I am now 40 and have 3 kids with Milo who sadly passed away 1 year ago but I know he is watching over me, Mara, Lily, and Kylee. Mara is now 17 and I have never told her this experience. I think that it is best that she doesn’t know. Maybe when she is older I may tell of this experience but for now I don’t want to bring it up she needs to focus on her grades so she can get into a good college with good grades.
