When a Child’s Imaginary Friend is an Actual Ghost

Posted on September 1, 2007

“They” say it is quite normal perhaps even average for a young child to create an imaginary friend. Experts disagree as to exactly why children do this but all agree that it happens. Perhaps the child who envisions their own imaginary friend just needs someone that will listen to them or provide them with company.

There is a lot of evidence that indicates that at least some of these imaginary friends aren’t so imaginary. What would you think if I told you it were possible for that imaginary friend to be an actual ghost or entity?

According to the experiences of some it is true. I have a reader submitted story here that describes a case where her imaginary friend was really a ghost. This little girl’s imaginary friend was real!

I can’t really tell it as well here as the original writer has told it so you should read her complete story about everything she experienced.

Read her story and several others that deal with an imaginary friend who was really a ghost:

I have a friends who’s little boy says he has a friend named Ernest but u ask him where he is an he says he lives in the wall what can this mean

    • anna says:

he probably has a friend that lives in the wall.tell your friend to ask the brother to describe the friend and just ask questions for now and go from there.

    • Steph says:

Maybe this means that his little friend is a ghost that appears from the wall and then disappears back into a wall again?

I have read a story on here about a ghost that disappeared into a wall.

  2. sandra says:

it might be that the little boy was killed and his ramains were put in between the wall to hide the crime.

  3. lola says:

i agree with sandra. maybe you should have your friend do some research on the house. see if it has a past.

when i was around 3 years untill i was about five , i had a “imaginary” friend call jake who lived in the wall of my bedroom. he was not there all of the time and was never with me outside of the room.
He had a sister & older brother but his parents were distant from him,he was slighly older than me and told me many things about his time (i knew he was not living in the present time) that i just could not have known at that young age.
Perhaps you should see if your friends son has any info from his ‘friend’ that he could not possibly know, say from the past?
I moved house when i was around 5 years jake spoke to me once at my new house but never again.
Perhaps he was my spirt guide and may well be still with me, but as you get older i think you block things out which are not logical.
my family still joke at me about jake who lived in the wall, but to me he was very real ideed.
oh the little girl who moved into the house after me had a little boy some years later, she called him Jake!!

    Yes… great story

Ive had an imaginary friend. Her name was Cami. We had alot of fun together. Until we moved… I was playing in my room and suddenly this glass doll comes flying through the window and the force was so hard it broke the window. I looked outside to see if someone threw it but there was no one there. Then I heard a giggle and a voice said PLAY WITH ME… i screamed so hard
