Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

This didn’t happen to me, it happened to my boyfriend, Mason, when he was just born. Even to this day, this is the freakiest ghost story I have ever heard of.

Mason was just a little boy barely even a year old. Being only under a year old, he slept a lot and because his mother was usually tending to household chores, he slept in his cradle. The cradle he had was fairly old but still in great condition. It was wooden and nicely polished. It was a pin and lock cradle, which means you could rock your baby to sleep and put a pin in to stop the cradle from moving if your baby moves around.

Every night, Mason’s mother would place him in the cradle and rock him back and forth and back and forth to put him asleep. Once he was asleep, she would slow down the cradle and place the pin in the small hole to stop it from moving. She would then go into the living room, down the hall and spend some time with her husband (usually watching TV together). After a few hours and before Mason’s parents would turn in for the night, his mother would check on him.

When opened the door to his bedroom, the pin would be on the floor and the cradle would ever so slowly be rocking. At first, Mason’s mother thought that she forgot to put the pin and when he rolled over it caused the cradle to rock. So she walked up to him and picked up the pin and put it back inside the hole and went to bed.

Everything was fine the next day and they all went through the same routine. Again, that night his mother put Mason to sleep and put the pin in the cradle. She would leave come back a few hours later and the pin would be on the floor and the cradle was rocking. This happened every single night for the next few weeks.

It began to scare Mason’s parents and they decided to get rid of it. So they asked around the family if anyone wanted the crib. Mason’s uncle decided that he could give it to his little girl to play with. So he came and picked it up and brought it home when his daughter was at school. Feeling exhausted from a new schedule at work, he went to take on the couch before he had to go pick up his daughter.

He awoke suddenly unable to breathe. Later, he explained that as if someone was sitting on his chest. He tried to get up but he couldn’t. After five minutes of struggling for air, he got up and looked at the cradle which was the exact way he left it when he brought it home. He took the cradle carefully in his hands terrified and placed it in the garbage area of his complex and left to get his daughter.

When he and his daughter came back, the cradle was no where to be found.
