Warning On Santeria

Posted on June 15, 2009

I just wanted to share my story just to give you a little heads up on psychics. I do believe there are good psychics out there but, I have also learned that there are some out there that try to use there gift to take advantage of others.

A little background on myself; I am Catholic whom as a child was introduced to Santeria. I found it very interesting to learn, given that my family has practiced it for many years. I have witnessed séances, black/white magic, spiritual cleanings, etc. I was told stories on the occult, and warned on the dangers of practicing it. I was always told by my mother that if I ever decided to practice Santeria, to use it to do good and not harm. It is believed that all harm you do comes back to you after a certain amount of time. As an adult, I can honestly say that I have not practiced or done anything involving Santeria.

Long story short, a few months ago my friends had an interest with going to a santero (a male that practices Santeria) /psychic for a psychic reading. They found out of him through word of mouth. I tagged along for the heck of it and figured I will also get a reading myself. He called us in individually, so I decided I wanted to go last.

When it was my turn, when he started my tarot card reading I thought he was really good and precise with what he told me. However what he told me afterwards still has me in shock. He told me that one of my ex-boyfriends had cast a spell on me to make sure that I would not be happy with any other man. He said that in order to break the spell, I had to have unprotected intercourse with a santero. When he told me this, I knew he was BS’ing. I have been happily married for 10 years, so I decided to play along to see what else he would tell me. I told him that I knew no santero’s, given that I had just moved to that area. He then proceeded with telling me that rather then sending me to search for someone; he would volunteer to make sure that the séance gets done properly. He also told me that I needed to get a spiritual cleaning performed to take away all negative energy (by the way, these cleanings had to be performed nude while he poured liquids over you). Oh, I failed to mention that he informed me that if I did as he said, he would charge me much less because he was only trying to help me else his prices would have been ridiculous. I did not do anything that he informed me on.

After I left his house, I was very upset. I informed my friends what he told me and we all just laughed at it. He only told them about the spiritual cleaning, because according to him they needed it. What bothered me is that if I did not have the background in Santeria that I have, I could have been a victim to his intensions. This man is married, living in his house with his wife and kids. I cannot believe he tried to lure me into this nonsense. He must of thought that I was some silly female that would believe him easily. I never returned there again.

I just wanted to share this story because I feel that this is a perfect story that proves the maliciousness in people. This was my encounter with a psychic pervert, so be very careful. Please if you have any comments; share your thoughts on this story.

wow…. if he can really read tarot card, he might already have known that you are married through the card reading!!!

then he might be a fake or he might be a psychic but he cant tarot card that well & often tell lies to gain fortune/money.

  2. Carmen says:

Mellisa, you are right on that. I thought of the same thing.
I posted my story given that some time ago I read an article on how a young woman was actually conned this way. But I never in my life thought it would happen to me. This stuff is actually happening and I just wanted to let you guys know to be careful out there.

  3. Karen M. says:

Wow I ‘ve heard of pick up lines before, this guy is using his business for sex what a scuzbag! I wouldn’t have payed him anything except for a slap in the face and a phone call to his wife!

  4. Rachel says:

I hope you told his wife. If he is having unprotected sex with other women without her knowledge, she could catch something nasty.

  5. Dylan says:

Hold on,if he was so famous to be heard through word of mouth, didnt people mention that he was a pervert?

  6. Carmen says:

No, I havent told his wife. I have not had contact with him ever since. I am trying to stay as far away that I can. These kind of people like to rebel w/witchcraft. Again I have a full understanding of the types of spells that they like to cast on people, and it is a pain in the butt to get rid of them. What upsets me is that I could have been a victim to his malicious intention and ending up w/ something nasty. That just proves to me that there is a god, because I was smart enough to get out of the situation.

  7. Karen M. says:

Carmen, when you say rebel with witchcraft do you mean he’ll throw “a temper tantrum” cause he couldn’t get what he wanted? Have you noticed anything strange since you have not had anymore contact with him, cause if not he’s just a fake!

  8. Carmen says:

No, the friend that told us, turns out only went to him once. I later found this out.

  9. Carmen says:

    Karen M.
What I meant w/rebel w/witchcraft is that they would try casting spells on you. Since you have to deal with it, it makes your life miserable. Lately, my house does feel a bit uncomfortable. But, its nothing major. A house cleaning usually takes care of this, so I am not concerned.
He is probably a pervert that uses his gift to lure in women or a fake w/many tricks up his sleeve. He was accurate w/ my friends readings and for some of my reading, but again who knows how long he has been doing this.

  10. Jen says:

ojay, if anyone ever tries that again, then i agree Karen M, and let’s not try 2 get into a fight on the web guys, i did , and it wasn’t pretty, but good story

  11. Karen M. says:

Jen, I didn’t get you on that one, who’s fighting? Carmen I’m sure he’s been doing this for a long time, maybe he was more attracted to you than your friends.

  12. Carmen says:

Yeah I have to agree w/you Karen. Perverts are usually experienced.
Jen- I also didn’t get you on that one also. I don’t think anyone is fighting here.

  13. Lialleilla M. S. says:

It could be that Jen was just saying what she thought, and was scared it could turn into a fight. Lots of times fights will erupt out of no where just because of a misunderstanding. So, she was probably scared that was going to happen somewhere in this chain.

  14. Oberi bere says:

Let me begin by saying I have been in Santeria for like 2 years going on three years now and have gone to many amateur and very good ones. First off you saying that you had a background in santeria you should know it deals nothing with tarot cards if he didnt have a leguele ( if spelled wrong sorry) or anything of that sort then he is automatically a fake Duh, babaladows don’t use tarot cards so this guy is obviously a pervert trying to get his rocks off. Santeria is a suppose to be a kept secret and not everyone is ment for it thank you and ache

  15. Anonymous says:

I’ve heard this story from so many different people, Im Fifteen years old and ive been a santero since the age of 6, I’ve never been taught to take advantage or use my gifts to hurt others. I come from a long line of preists and santeros deep into my families blood line, and we have never used our religion to con anyone. Anyways, cool story, if you end up wanting to ever learn about or might be interested in practicing religion be very careful what household you end up in because there are alot of perverts and cons out there.

  16. David says:

I’ve Been practicing santeria my whole life, and i’ve had saint done at 6, So i have 9 years under my belt, and I’m Only fifteen. I come from a long line of babaladows and santeros in my famliy, and ive been to many households, and everyone likes to run their ceremonies different but based on the same principles, and i’ve also been in households where people like to take advantage of the needy so if you are ever interested in this religion be very careful who you get consulted with or who you see cause there are alot of cons out there.
