This is a story that was told to me by my best friend’s mother, Sue. I thought I’d post it to see what your opinions were.
She was about 11 or 12 years old at the time and was having a sleep over with 4 of her friends. They stayed up late, it being Friday night, and they set up blankets and pillows in her room so they could all sleep in there.
The night went on just fine and when it was around 2 am they went to sleep. Sue woke some time in the night having to go to the bathroom. Her room was upstairs and the bathroom was downstairs.
She got up and slowly walked through the dark room making sure not to wake her friends. She walked down the stairs and at the bottom of them you would turn right to go down the hall to the bathroom and to the left is the living room.
She glanced in the living room when she was at the bottom and the streetlights outside shone through the windows just enough to see the layout. She stopped after she looked. She saw her friend Sara standing in the far corner facing downward, about 20 feet from her. She could tell it was Sara by the nightgown she wore.
She called to Sara but got no response. The situation creeped her out and she didn’t want to approach her. She called a few more times then decided to go to the bathroom and get her on the way back. She made sure she was quick so she could get it over with.
On her way back she checked to see if she was still there. And she was. She hadn’t moved an inch. Sue said to her, “I’m going back upstairs Sara. You should come too.” Still no response. She went back upstairs quickly, scared now.
She went back in her room to wake one of her other friends. Her eyes were now adjusted to the darkness and the first person she saw was Sara, fast asleep on the floor.
Sue, now terrified, lied down and curled up with her friends. She lied awake for a while longer, then finally fell asleep.
She told her friends what had happened the next morning and they believed her, seeing how scared she was. They didn’t have any more sleep overs at her house and no other event like this happened again.
Well, that’s her story. Tell me what you think. I always get creeped out just thinking about it.
