Violent Hauntings

Posted on December 24, 2010

Assuming you have read the rather long but necessary background information in my other story ( Series of Hauntings by Granddad ), explaining how hauntings are a family thing here I hope to explain some of the weird experiences I have had.

As a child whenever I was moved bedrooms or something new was in my room a few nights later I could expect to see or hear or worse, feel something unnatural in my room and I cam to dread it at one point.

When I was 6 my mum rushed up to my room when she heard bangs and found me, fast asleep but my head being violently bashed against the wall constantly like I was being pushed.

I woke up to see a short lady in old fashioned dress at the end of my bed – we do wonder if this was a relative but I was till freaked.

Seeing what I call a Hades creature in my room and by this I mean a cloaked figure in black and hunched over like a black rider type outfit or grim reaper if you will in my room appearing to hide behind my desk as I saw it this was an absolutely terrifying site but I was frozen, eventually I must have fallen asleep and woke to see dawn coming in and no “shape” in the corner and no there was nothing to cast a shadow or anything.

When I was a toddler I used to talk of the “man and funny hat” a lot and while out one day I spotted a funny hat which turned out to be a flat cap, upon this knowledge my mum concludes I was seeing my great granddad watching over me as he would have loved to have met his great grandchildren (he died 3 months shy of meeting my sister). At point he didnít think he would have children let alone live as long as he did to see 3 grandchildren grow up so I like to think it was him looking and smiling at me.

Other more creepy tales are the feeling of a finger trailing ticklish down my back, the sensation of feeling like my duvet has been pulled clean off me in the night and a chill draught start – and once I awoke to find the duvet neatly piled on the floor.

I also have had weird dreams, including one where I had a sort of starting point hat led me into many different dreams but all starting in the same place. A horrible dream was of a small ghost train with skeletons and demons and witches on board cackling and chattering teeth going round in a circle in my room, when I awoke next morning there was a present of a train waiting for me- coincidence?

The absolute worst experience and one I have documented proof for happened when I was about 8.
I had recently moved into the front bedroom and dreading an occurrence had been on edge, when nothing happened I guess I relaxed my guard and this is when it happened.

I awoke in the night to find my self being strangled – I say awoke I was definitely conscious and could feel hear think and panic but I couldn’t open my eyes and I was terrified thee were finger like feelings pressing down around my neck and I couldn’t breathe or do anything, eventually the hands released me and I think I must have been dozy as I went to sleep. When I woke up next morning I remembered it and was uneasy but the light of day made it seem less real, that was until I got downstairs and my mother shouted what in gods name has happened to you? Because around my neck were several abrasions and a series of bruises – 10 long bruises slightly interlaced at the back, and now rapidly turning purple.

The doctor said the only explanation was strangulation but my father was at work when it happened and mum was downstairs however I doubt they did it as did the doctor, the proof is some photos that still hang around somewhere. On top of all this I have many weird experiences including dťjŗ vu, yet I find it hard to explain.

I tend to see events before they happen, nothing major just normal possible things and I donít know when I see them if I am asleep or otherwise because it isnít until they happen for real that I remember them, such as filling a shelf up at work with crisps and seeing how I took them out of the box and in what way and how many, and this was before I realized I had the job.

I used to be scared of skeletons as a child but now I don’t seem to be scared of anything supernatural, although that may change.

My career now is working with the dead and skeletons specifically so you could say I have got over it or indeed I may be seeing my self up for a fall.

If you see anything scary, start praying — they hate the light of goodness and will flee!

I do not know if working with the dead is good for you. Wear a cross.
