Uncle Mike on His Death Bed

Posted on January 3, 2010

Everybody Gets Theirs in the End

This is more of a family thing that no one has talked about since it happened. I was born and raised in south Boston and have the hugest Irish family you have ever seen. Not to make it all long I have 23 first cousins so yeah were pretty freaking huge. My favorite uncle was uncle mike, he taught me to do everything how to be a man, husband, and most of all a provider. We were always taught since birth that family comes first and to do whatever you got to do to provide for them at any cost. So of course we were hustlers we ran anything and everything and if someone had a problem we had my grandpa and uncles to back us up so needless to say no one complained twice.

Well I was in Kansas city takin care of family business when my dad called and said that my uncle Mike was on his death bed. He had been suffering from kidney failure and he was under indictment for racketering so the stress of that was not helping. So I dropped everything and caught a plane. When I got there he was half a man. He told me he refused to die in a hospital so we moved him to my house. I still had a lot to learn and I wanted to spend every minute he had left with him.

On the way there he kept murmuring things like those bastards finally won and they’re coming to get me just crazy stuff like that. The first night at home I stayed up with him feeding him ice chips and cleaning him at 3 he started screaming saying get away I aint dead yet MF’s. I’d calm him down and he just lay there shaking like a leaf. I asked him what the hell uncle and he’d just look at me saying unfinished business sunny that’s it. I had no idea what to do I was scared to but of him.

The second night was worse. I sat there and in the room with him and started hearing footsteps. I knew no one was there. I had told my wife to stay at my moms. I got up grabbed my gun and stormed through the house NO ONE. I chalked it up to lack of sleep and went back downstairs. When I walked in the room uncle Mike was sitting up in bed looking dead at me and said they’re coming for my soul sunny, all those I popped, they’re coming. I had no idea what to say after that. I always new my family were connected but I guess hearing it from him I was like WOW. People from the old neighborhood always told me stories about how badass my uncles are, hearing this from him just was to much. I didn’t know what to say I just told him its the medication and to let it pass. He laid back down and fall asleep.

The next morning I called my wife and told her about what I heard and what he said she was shocked. She knew about my family just refused to accept it but loves me anyways so she brought her ghost friendly wacko friend Sandy. When she got there she felt it right away she said. I still thought it was just a bunch of crap as soon as she walked in uncle Mikes room she was thrown back. I swear seeing this almost made me piss my pants, literally thrown people, like in the movies. My wife started crying and left. Sandy stayed. Uncle Mike was crying and cursing and saying ok ok I’ll go.

Sandy did some chant stuff and I felt this calm like taking a hot bath. She told me that my uncle had done horrible things to many men and that they know his time is close so they’re trying to take his soul. I asked why now he never had these ghost problems in the past she said cause he was to strong and now since he’s weak they’re taking advantage. Uncle Mike just yelled, I told you sunny, I told you they want me. I fell to the floor powerless. I couldn’t move, they were one me holding me down. I felt a hand on my throat. I heard uncle Mike yelling leave him alone you bastards its me you want. They let up and I ran out crying. I never felt such hate such evil.

Sandy came out and told me its time Mike wants it all to end so I should say my good bye’s. It took all the nerve in the world to walk back into my home and more into the room. I sat there shaking and uncle Mike took my hand and said, “Its ok sunny they want me. They said if I go with them they’ll leave our family alone.” I hugged him told him I loved him and thanked him for everything and before I could lay him back down he was already dead but I swear I heard someone else say, “that’s life sunny”.

There’s nothing like pain and fear at the same time our house was quiet after that but just to make sure the pastor who did uncle Mikes funeral came by and blessed it. I still talk to Sandy and just last week we found out my wife is pregnant. I’ve decided if its a boy to name him Michael Allen after my uncle. I know he was what he was but to me and our family he was just fun loving uncle Mike.

Hard to say I’ve heard of people near the end starting to recall people and places from the past, it’s a form of dementia. I’m not really sure if I believe the rest!!!

  2. Carri says:

I believe you, who wrote the story. The other people who don’t believe haven’t had experiences from the other side. I was wondering what your uncle did that was so bad that he was being dragged to possibly Hell? Have you had any experiences other than these if so let us know. It was a real good story. If you polished it up you may be able to publish a ghost story who knows.

  3. Jamie says:

I like that story, thank you.

i’m so sorry for your loss, and at the same time glad you didn’t know what your family was into. i’m sure he was haunted at the end. now i hope that he is a peace. please don’t get involved, your uncle did right by you. congrats on the new baby!!

  5. Tony L. says:

If he was really that bad, it’s not the people he offed or did wrong that he has to fear. It’s the judgement all men not covered by the blood of christ have to face. That is the one that last for all eternity being tortured by the one who never dies. If those who do wrong want to fear something, that’s the one.
