Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

Ok this is my second story I have to relate to others. This time it was back home in Australia and at my work place. I will not identify my work place and what part in Australia it is but I work for a Transportation Railway in Australia.

Well one morning myself and work Mate were on a set of Train Units in our Marshaling Yard. What we call As Required Units for Traffic. In case of a Train Break down on main line and that we could get the replacement Train Units into traffic quickly and pick up passengers as needed.

Well my mate and myself were rostered on about 0330 hours. By 0400 hours we had tested the Train Units 14 and 25 and then we settled down just to wait. We are free to just snooze or rest in our train cabs and I was in Cab 125. Listening to the Train radio in case we were called out. But whilst waiting I slipped into a restless half sleep as I had my Cab Chair and backing down just to relax. I must have been in what is known as a Micro Sleep and my mind was drifting half way between being awake and asleep.

I felt for some strange reason that some one was staring down into my upturned face whilst I rested or sat in my Cab Chair. I did have my eyes closed though . I opened my eyes quickly to discover this Pale Face Staring directly into mine about inches from my own face. The Pale Face of a man hovering above my own Face. But this wasn’t what startled me. But the Face of this man had what appeared to be Bright Red Eyes. I immediately sat straight up in my Cab Chair. Looked around me to see if some one was playing a Practical Joke on me. But I was alone. There was NO ONE TO BE SEEN. I thought it may have been another Train Crew Member or even a cleaner but there was no one except me in the Train Cab. And no way could some one enter the Train Cab via the Door Cabs without me hearing them or being disturbed when they opened the Train Cab Doors.

Within minutes though after calming down some what the Train Radio from the Train Controller was calling our Train Units out into Traffic to relieve a Failed Train and that our Units were needed for what is termed a Fresh Turn Out in the City. I was some what gladdened this occurred as the previous event had unnerved me a bit. And I am not one of those types who panics or scares easily.

I mentioned it as a Joke to a work mate of mine. Who asked me what Train Units? I said what does it matter. It was Train Unit 25 Cab 125. He told me that some years ago Train Unit 25 had been involved in a Suicide by a Member of the Public. The person who committed Suicide was male and that when he was killed the Train Wheels had decapitated him. Killing him instantly. It was also discovered the man had been wearing Disposable Red Contact Lenses at the time of his death. Of course in an incident like this it is treated as a Crime Scene as per instruction of Heavy Vehicle Act and the Body has to be identified for obvious reasons so relatives can be contacted by the Police and a Coroners report can be made out. He was also reputed to have been some what of a Joker during Life and liked to play Practical Jokes on his friends. He was only a Young man in his early 20s and he avoided during life an open life style by getting the usual Sun Tan that is so popular in Australia amongst Young men and women.

Was he hanging about in Train Unit 25 to catch the next Train Crew Member who is working the Train Units for the day or night? Possibly as other Train Crew Members late at night on these same Train Units have claimed they have heard Footsteps coming through the Carriage Saloon to the Internal Cab Door to the Carriage and Saloon. They have opened the Door in expectation of a Cleaner or other Train Crew Members to be standing or walking through the Carriage and to see NO ONE IS THERE and the Footsteps stop immediately upon opening the Cab Door by the Train Crew Member
