The Things My Aunt Could See

Posted on April 9, 2011

One day me, my mom, and my grandmother were talking and they told me something I never knew. My aunt could see ghosts, my grandmother told me that she was born with a veil over her face (and for the people who don’t know what that is, it’s an extra layer of skin over the baby’s face that can easily be removed. And it’s said to give them physic abilities.) when she was a baby she would stand up in her crib and stare at the corner like someone was there when ever someone turned the lights off, and when someone turned them back on she would stop her staring and sit back down. Sometimes when grandma and grandpa would have her in the living room with them when they were watching a movie, she would suddenly start laughing and pointing to the front door. She would sometimes not be paying attention to the person in front of her but would be looking somewhere else’s and laughing.

They moved from their apartment when she was 4, and the first thing she said when they were walking through the house was “momma! Did you see that fat baby crawl in bathroom?” grandma shrugged it off though because she thought she was just being silly. She would tell my grandma and my mom what she would see,she would constantly talk about the baby crawling into the bathroom, and then into the bathtub. Grandma told me she wouldn’t let her give her a bath because the “baby” would be in there with her. She would talk about how an old lady would be in her room every night watching her sleep. My mom believed her but grandma didn’t, she would tell her that its just her imagination and that it’s not real.

Even though she kept telling her what she saw, she would either tell her it was a dream or that she’s just imaging things. But grandma started to wonder if she was just seeing things or if they were really there, when my aunt was ten years old and was still telling her what she would see. A lot of the things she said she would see would scare her half to death, like when she said a man with a messed up face would get all in her face when she would be trying to go to sleep. And that her closet door would open, and the cloths would be moved around or pulled out. And the creepy part is she actually SAW someone standing in front of her closet door doing it all. But the scariest thing of all she wouldn’t tell anyone, and to this day she still won’t, she saw something that scared her spook bad, it made her run out of the house. She was so scared that she wasn’t watching where she was going and ended up running into a street light pole And split her head open. She had to go to the hospital and get stitches. Ever since that night she hasn’t been able to see ghosts. She tries not to talk about it, but I know whatever she saw still haunts her to this day.

And in my opinion, I think it’s amazing that she could see that stuff. I always use to wish that I could see that stuff, but I’ve changed my mind ever since I heard that story.
