Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I must have been about 11 when this happened but I remember it very vividly. I had been living in our house for about 9 years and not one night passed by without me having the same nightmare of me floating above my bed and having to grab the sheets to lower myself down. These dreams became as though they were so real that it came to the point were I had panic attacks when it came to bedtime. Although I soon got used to it as the years passed.

One night as I was just settling down in my room I closed my eyes, it was quite early so I wasn’t that tired. I laid there for a good couple of minutes until all of the sudden my legs went cold. I froze to the spot not wanting to open my eyes too look. The feeling was still there but I finally took up the courage to look up. My heart must have been going so fast that I could almost hear it beating.

I turned to look at where my feet were, as I did I saw a smoky figure sitting on my legs. As I looked into its eyes I felt comforted and could sort of make out that it was a man that looked like he was in his early 40′s, then as I blinked he had disappeared. I couldn’t help but to feel calm so I just laid down and went straight to sleep.

For the next 3 years all the paranormal goings on had stopped and seemed to calm down. Then one day we had to move out because the house wasn’t stable anymore so we did. After they had knocked the building down we had spoken to one of the builders and he had said that under about three or four layers of soil and water pipes they had found the body of a 42 year old man. Tingles ran through my spine as I realized the man was the man on my bed!
