The Ghost That Possessed My Friend Part 2

Read Part 1 of The Ghost That Possessed My Friend

Dee made sure his parents were asleep and he opened the back door, he was clearly more scared than I was and carefully followed me to the patio, I saw that rusty swing set all the way down at the bottom of the garden. There was a slight wind blowing, “watch out for the ghost” Dee chuckled out, I suddenly hated him for saying that, I was determined to make it to the swing set. The grass was wet and this made the journey endurably there is something comfortable about wet grass touching feet. I was almost at the swing set when the wind, at least I hoped it was the wind, caused the swing the move. I wanted to back down, I turned around and saw Dee standing all high and mighty, so I bucked up and completed my task. I had a sense of pride when I saw his face all twisted and upset at my victory.

It was now my turn to think of a dare, being so late at night the only sensible thing was to repeat his dare, it was fun to do and I wanted him to share the same experience. But off course he declined and declared me the winner. I remember being thrilled at the prospects of bragging to my older cousins about Dee being a big fat chicken.

Dee was too cleaver and I knew he was up to something. He did not want me to bask in my victory for too long so he agreed to the touch the swing set if I came with him. I remember feeling in charge when I took hold of his shivering scared little hands. We slowly made our way down the hill, he was clearly afraid and his eyes were shunt closed all the way down.

Things felt different this time the wind was stronger I felt much more scared, Dee mumbling to himself did not help either. It took longer to reach the swing set and for a moment I thought we were walking around in a circle, I felt sick. There was some light shining from the porch but I still felt that I was walking through blackness. The base of my throat started to feel warm like there was something or someone holding on to it. The grasp began to tighten I could feel the hate. I cannot explain the feeling it is like a vibe you get when someone you don’t like touches you. This thing was squeezing my neck, my immediate attention was my cousin but he seemed fine. I don’t know how we managed to reach the swing set. The grip realized it self I was feeling light-headed and about to tell my cousin about the experience when he suddenly jerked his head towards me and opened his eyes.

I can never forget that look, his eyes were a shiny black almost lifeless. He attempted to bite my face I fell backwards and Dee began jumping like a mad man in circles around me. At first, I thought he was angry for bringing him here and then I quickly decided that he was playing a sick joke and I laughed it off. But then he began to bolt towards the house, I knew exactly what he was up to he wanted to lock me outside so I could receive a beating from my aunty. I wasn’t going to let that happen so I raced and caught up to him, I grabbed him by his shoulder and then I received a crashing blow on my chin. The little idiot sucker punched me. It was not over, we began wrestling on the ground, I’m not the fighting type but any day of the year I could beat my cousin in a brawl but this night was different he was powerful. He held me down with a single arm and began beating and strangling me, I tired shouting for help but I could not get the words out. All this time I could here the clapping of a crowd, light and heavy handclaps, stumping of feet I had absolutely no idea where the noises were coming from.

Fighting him was not helping I remembered thinking, he was just scared boy, so I held him down and told him everything was going to be ok. He pushed me off but he was still on the ground. I was feeling terrified and I could never forget him just lying still on the green grass, I began to brake into a sweat, truthfully I thought he was dead. I grabbed his hand and pulled him up and I felt relief when he called my name. At that exact moment, I saw in the corner of my eyes something entering the room. I told my cousin and he began screaming. We quickly ran into to house and my uncle and aunty came to investigate.

My attention was only on the white image I decided not to tell them completely what happened to my cousin, I was too afraid and I was praying that my cousin wouldn’t remember anything. My uncle searched the wardrobes and under the bed, I could see his hands shaking but he put on a brave face. Thank goodness, the ordeal was over. The remainder of the night my cousin and I slept in the lounge.

I woke the next morning very ready to tell the full story to my uncle but my aunty came for us with her weapon of choice, that dreaded wooden spoon. We received ten hard whacks on our backside for leaving the house so late at night. It is funny how daylight can change things that deadly swing set doesn’t seem so scary in fact later on that day we were playing on it. My parents arrived, so I had to pack up my stuff, I wanted to believe last night was just a dream or a bad nightmare but when I saw my bed sheet, it was a different story. There were grass stains all over my bed and what look like foot print marks.

I never spent another night at my cousins’ house. Only one year after the incident, they decided to move. What prompted them to leave was the mysterious burning of their neighbours’ house. A five-year-old child died in the tragic event. The incident made newspaper headlines, “Baby Burnt Alive, Squatters Blamed”.

Many years have passed since then. I hardly see my cousins. My auntie’s house was sold to some dentist but he moved out quickly for reasons unknown. Last, I heard three African witchdoctors overtook the house. When I think about this story there many “scientific” things that could explain what happen to me, but as said earlier I am a believer in the supernatural and the unknown.

I would be a greatly appreciate some feedback. Your opportunities can help me immensely in my quest to uncover the supernatural. Please post some helpful comments on this website.

It was just a very negative spirit. Some “earth bounds” stay here to spread their hate on the living. Now, not all spirits are like this- but, you have to know that there are some. I honestly think that’s why the “witchdoctors” moved in. They could sense this spirits energy and they know how to call it in and deal with it.

As a firm believer i no that a spirit can only became “evil” or negative wen the person/place that it (attached to) 2 put it propa has negative energy it will use that energy 2 became stronger

  6. linda says:

well i think that there are good and bad spirits in your case there had to be some reason why it would attach itself to your cousin sometimes the one that believes the worse wont happen usually there is yet more to the story than you would normally and ther is also the things that children here that really stay in their sub concious mind that you would think is a blank memory until the memory surfaces
