Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I don’t know if what I encountered was my aunts’ ghost… but I decided to share the only experience I’ve ever had. Please tell me what you think it was.

In High school I lived with my grandparents’ because it was closer to my school. I went to sleep in the back bedroom (like I always did) but I was always afraid of going to sleep in there ’cause that’s where my aunt who had passed like 2 years or so prior would stay when she spent the night.

My granny had told me that my uncle was upstairs one night watching TV in the dark and saw her glowing silhouette floating down the hallway. He said she turned to him and smiled. He then ran downstairs and told my granny everything that he saw and what she had did. That next day they went to view the body (mind you nobody knew what she was going to be buried in) Exactly what my uncle told my Granny she had on was what she indeed was lying in the casket in!

Well back to my story… I didn’t get to attend the funeral and she was one of my favorite Great-Aunts. So every night I used to think of her. This particular night I went to bed and while I was asleep the same song that was playing on the radio in my dream was playing when I woke up… as with the time. I saw a mist float up under the door and over to my bed and hover on top of it for a minute (which felt like an eternity) then the mist floated down and formed a figure which then sat on the bottom of my bed. The whole time I’m trying to fight to get up (cause mind you I’m still asleep) so my legs felt really heavy… but as soon as she turned into my aunt I got up and ran down the Hallway to my grandparents room.

My grandpa came out of his room and went to my room and once he saw my aunt he said “Mattie Lee… You cant be scaring everybody that comes over here.”  Then she came to my grandparents’ room where me and my granny were and my granny instantly ran up to her and gave her a kiss and a hug. Then she came and sat on my grandparents bed by me and I said “Hey Aunt Mattie”… “You scared Me” She looked at me and said “You scared me too.” Then I hugged her and told I loved her and when I was little she used to always suck on my jaws when she kissed me.  That’s exactly what she did in my dream. I woke up.

To this day I’ve never seen her again. I think that was my way of getting closure with my favorite Auntie. Do you think she really came to me in my dream? Or was I just too scared when I went to sleep so I dreamt it up? Take in consideration I was scared every night and I stayed with my granny my 10th grade year. Why that one time I dream of her and never again?
