When my mom remarried, we moved into a house in our hometown. It was an older house, but it was nice. For awhile nothing unusual happened. But then we’d hear things and lose stuff we remembered putting up. You’d always feel like someone was standing with you in the shower or watching you, but there were no windows in the bathroom, nobody could see in there.

One night me and my best friend Stephanie were watching TV and she said she saw a little black-headed girl and she got really upset because I told her she was crazy and she cried and went home. About a week after that happened I was sitting on the loveseat with my older sister and we had our feet on the couch and we were facing each other. We had the TV on the music channel and we were just talking and laughing. I got up and went into the kitchen to get something to drink and I came right back. Well a few minutes later she went in there and came back in and asked me if I opened all of the cabinets. I told her no and walked in there and they were all closed. I thought maybe she was playing so we sit back down on the couch. Then the TV went fuzzy, we thought maybe one of us had sat on the remote, so we started looking around, then we saw the remote up on the entertainment stand. We were both scared, so we just turned it back on and tried to ignore it.

Before I went to bed that night I got a cup of tea and sit it on the table in my room and started putting my pj’s on, then the cup just fell off the table. I cried and picked it up and prayed that nothing else would happen to me… but it did. My little sister thought I was making up stories to scare her. We were chillin in my room one night and we decided to go make something to eat. We walked out of my room, I flipped the light out and we started down the hallway, we made it about 10 feet, and my light came back on, we ran into the living room and jumped into the chair. I was saying, See I told you. Then she believed me.

She went to my dad’s house while my mom worked and my older sister always went out. My stepdad left for work at 8:30, so I was home alone. Steph called me and asked if I wanted to come to the game room so I thought why not, I got ready and turned my cd player off and went and tried to open the front door, but it was stuck, I started pulling on it and was starting to get mad. Then my cd player came on full blast and the door opened. I didn’t bother turning it off, I just ran to the game room to see her.

Then one night it was storming and I was laying in bed and storms scare me anyways. The lightening flashed in my window and I could see in the mirror, and in the corner of my room by the door I saw a little black-headed girl standing there. When I looked over there she was gone. It scared me so bad, I wouldn’t get up I just pulled the covers over my head and cried! When we were talking to my mom and stepdad about it, mom believed it because she had seen a little girl standing by her bed in the middle of the night before, but thought it was my little sister, but turns out there wasn’t any girl really there when she got up.

We found out that there was a black-headed little girl who died and lived it that house, who had my bedroom, her name was Tessa. We heard that she died in the bathroom, but we never found out for sure. She died like 15 years before I was even born. My stepdad didn’t believe us that she was still there and while he was saying that a bag of chips fell off the kitchen table. The kitchen light would come on by it’s self but he’d always have to make up a reason why! One night while he was getting ready for work he pulled the string to turn the light off in the laundry room and soon as he walked out it came back on. I was like, is that proof enough for you? He wasn’t a big believer, but now I am!

I have pictures of me that we took that have the little orb in them and nobody will ever convince me that Tessa wasn’t still there. We don’t live there anymore, but sometimes I think she followed us, every now and then something will fall or I’ll hear something or feel someone behind me. Now I can just kind of laugh and shake it off and say stop it Tessa. My mom and sister do the same thing! I realize now that she probably didn’t mean to scare us, she just needed attention like a normal little girl would.
