Haunted Bridge Black Dog

I write this story in hope of gaining some answers into a couple of strange occurrences that have happened to me in the last couple of weeks. I’m currently living in Australia, and although I do believe in the paranormal I have never in my 26 years experienced anything of that nature until recently.

I like to keep myself fit so I often go jogging whenever I can, unfortunately because of the heat I can only do so in the evenings when it cools down. One evening I was running my usual route which is around a block of streets which form a kind of a huge rectangular track. I always noticed that at one of these corners there is a small dirt road that veers off and leads to a dead end about 100 – 150 m up. About half way up this track is an old stone bridge that crosses over the track. It’s been mostly demolished now …

Unexplained Experiences in Rural England

Hello all. I thought I might share some of my family’s experiences with the unexplained. The following is true so far as I am involved in the events, and where I am not, the information is from people I believe are credible. I should add that there is nothing particularly dramatic about what I have to relate: if it’s supernatural melodrama you are after, you should probably move on.

I grew up in rural Shropshire, a county in England in Great Britain for those not in the know and it was during this childhood that my only significant experience of the unexplained occurred. Incidentally, by rural I mean that our nearest neighbour was approximately half a mile away, and the nearest significant centre of civilization was some sixteen miles. In England we don’t have any real wildernesses: the country is so old and so populated nowhere is very far from some sort of urbanization.

The house I lived in was …

Animals Ghosts and Strange Behavior

Apparently I come from a long line of mediums (my gran tells me), but I haven’t experienced any feelings or sensations, so I don’t really look into it. I do however love a good ghost story! I guess I believe in ghosts, but I’m not the type to assume that strange occurrences are ghosts, I firstly try to explain them away. Some however cannot be explained away such as the few small experiences I’ve had with animals.

First: When I was younger, about 8 I guess, I lived on a small holding (small farm) with my parents and grandparents. My grandparents had a few Yorkshire terriers and I remember one day going downstairs to see them and one of the dogs, named Netty, was staring at something in the middle of the room just to the side of me. She stared and I called her name over and over and started to wave my hand in front of her face. …

A Close Experience

I was alone in my house in the early evening, it would have been about eight. I was reading in my study, my parents and siblings were all out and I’d opted to stay in the house alone. I didn’t feel like going out at the time. My border collie Tess was lying by my feet as I was reading.

There are steps from my study that lead into the sitting room. Suddenly without any warning my dog tess leaped to her feet and ran to the top of the steps. I’d never seen her behave this way before. The hackles on her back raised and she bared all her teeth and began to drool. She was growling and snarling and I ran to her. I spoke to her but she didn’t appear to here me, she moved her head from one side of the room to the other. Like she was following someone.

She then ran to my kitchen …
