One day in fourth grade, my best friend Tori, my cousin Zaria and I were very bored and began to read a Ghost book I had borrowed from the school library. We came across something called the ‘Circle of Hands’ and decided to try it.
We turned off the lights, sat in a circle, and put a Bible in the middle of us. Zaria began to chant nonsense (so it seemed) and for a while, nothing happened. I opened my eyes and glanced toward Tori to see how she was taking this but she didn’t exchange glances with me. She was wide eyed, in total awe. She stared at the ceiling also. At first I thought “What in the world is she looking at? Is there a bug on the wall?” I fixed my eyes toward what she was looking at. And I saw something I really cant explain…
I saw a shadowy figure with curly hair and a smile that went literally from ear to ear. My eyes grew bigger than Tori’s and my mouth dropped open. I screamed at the top at my lungs, Tori ran out the room, and Zaria (startled to see us screaming and running out the room) leaped up and ran behind us. Zaria claims she didn’t actually see the ghost but she says she heard a sudden noise. We ran down the stairs, falling over each other pretty much, and stayed down there until Tori had to leave and Zaria and I had to go to bed. Even though my parents didn’t believe me, I persuaded them to let me sleep with them. The next day, everything thing was back to normal.
I started sleeping in my room again forgetting everything since it was now later on in the year and one night, it was Midnight and I was watching cartoons, beginning to doze off. Once I closed my eyes for a few seconds, I felt something push the foot of my bed hard enough for me to jolt up. At first I thought it was just my cousins, Shannon and Pierre, joking around and trying to scare me. I was now wide awake by the powerful push, so, I looked under my bed and around it to see if they were hiding. When I saw no one, I went into Shannon and Pierre’s room to see if they were awake and laughing. They weren’t. Not knowing whether or not to go bad inside my room, I ran down the hall and jumped into my parents bed. They were too tired to throw me out so they just kept me with them.
The next day I told my parents and once again they didn’t believe me! I accepted that they would never believe me, but I know that I saw it for myself…
