Strange Experiences With The Supernatural

Posted on January 23, 2009

I’ve been having strange things happen to me since I was a small child.  My mother could tell when someone was about to die, she’d hear a clock ticking.  My maternal grandmother and her sister were also gifted.  And as I am the first person in my family to be born in the US, my older female relatives on my mother’s side were considered witches and worse.

My great-aunt Louise spent the first 35 years of her life locked in the house in Zurich.  Now my youngest son is also gifted.  I’ve never been afraid of any visitations or occurrences and I made sure he wasn’t either.  He began when he was about 2-1/2 when he began speaking with ‘the man’ in his bedroom. He’d bring toys, etc. and carry on one-way conversations.

One night I had a horrific dream that I was the old man.  I was on the floor, my chest hurt and I was trying to crawl to the back door to get some help.  Apparently that’s how he died.  He went away after that.  Since then I’ve had many experiences and told very few.

I lived in a very big old house at one time. There were 8 bedrooms off the hall upstairs.  I kept the doors closed, and at around 3 am every morning I’d hear footsteps going up the stairs.  In the morning all of the doors would be open.  I guessed it was a mother with children in those rooms, checking on them.  I lived in that house for 3 or 4 years and she was a comfort to me.  When I was alone in the house, I really wasn’t, if you know what I mean.

I live upstairs in a house that’s about 120 years old now.  There’s a spot at the back corner of my bedroom that’s ‘unusual’.  I have a cat named ‘Himself’ and he’ll go in there, meow loudly and come running out with his hair standing on end on his back and his tail looks like a big fat utility brush.  I know there’s a whole lot that I haven’t experienced or seen and I’d like to but I don’t know how to focus myself or do what is necessary to learn more.  Can someone help me?

My wife and I have had many strange experiences, either together or separately. These experiences range from UFOs to ghost dogs and just about anything twixt the two. Indeed, the very range of our experiences seems, somehow, to encourage disbelief amongst other people. It would appear that other people have already decided what the limitations are within this universe. Thus, for anyone who already knows what is, and what isn’t possible, please ignore this. For these people, it is best not to speak of the spirit writer who was driven from our flat by aliens, the mysterious ghostly goings on at home or at work, or even the crop circle experiences.

    Dear Elaine,

I don’t know if I can actually help you. It now appears that my mother had experienced the ‘invisible friends’ syndrome as a child, but I have no recollection of any such thing. My first encounter with poltergeist activity didn’t occur until I was 28, although it is now clear that there was a chiefly inactive, and completely invisible, ‘presence’ in my earlier life. I have always lived in a town that officially didn’t even exist before 1920. Thus, time does not seem to count. Nevertheless, my wife and I have had cats and dogs who have responded to the ‘presence’. We currently have a cockatiel named ‘Pip’, who talks to ‘them’.

Any time an animal has a negative experience with the paranormal it is not good. Not all spirits are kind and benevolent. I would be very careful not to leave yourself open to the spirit world at large… I would put salt (yes salt) along the wall where your cat growled and you have that weird feeling- this will make the spirit leave… also think about getting some (sage) smudge sticks and lighting then- as you go through your home say a prayer that only goodness and good thoughts are allowed to remain in this home… this will rid the home of any negative entity… I hope I have helped you. Good luck!
