I had always heard about Helens Bridge since I was a kid. There used to be a big castle on the side of a mountain and in it lived Helen and her daughter. One night the castle caught on fire and killed Helens daughter. Helen was so upset about her poor daughter she hung herself from the bridge that leads to the castle… Now called Helens Bridge. It is said that if you go up to Helens Bridge and call her name 3 times she will appear or make herself known, also if you stop your car and turn it off underneath the bridge the car wont start again when you go to leave… So here is my story.
Me, my cousin Hayley and our friend Taylor decided to go up to Helens Bridge one night, none of us had ever been before, we had heard the stories so we were curious. We went up the mountain and parked the car across the street from where you walk up to the bridge. You have to walk through what looks like a field and through a gate to get to the bridge. Once we got there me and Hayley were freaked out just because we had to walk through a dark creepy field and we knew eventually we would have to walk back, but Taylor being the guy was acting all tough and started calling Helens name. Me and Hayley where freaking out! Taylor wanted a cigarette and had forgotten the lighter at the car so he told me and Hayley he would be right back…
So me and Hayley were by ourselves and we could here Taylor walking through the bushes he’s a pretty big boy so we could here him easily, we heard the car door open and close then we heard Taylor start walking back, then he suddenly stopped… We heard the bushes behind us moving and something walking towards us coming from the opposite direction Taylor would have been coming from. You could tell whatever it was walking on two legs and it sounded big. We got scared and started yelling for Taylor telling him there was something behind us in the woods and that he couldn’t just leave us he had to come back. We heard him a little ways off say that he had seen something walking towards us and that’s why he had stopped walking! Whatever that had been walking through the woods was very close behind us and all of a sudden it had stopped walking and was being very still very close to us… Taylor started running and yelling towards us thinking that would scare it away. When he got to us we clung to him and he walked us out of the field and back to the car. When we got back to the car we sat in it with the lights pointed towards the bridge to see if we could see whatever it was. Taylor said whatever he seen was big with black hair or fur, walking on two legs and about 4 feet tall. It had walked about 20 feet in front of him.
We never seen what is was, and we never went back to Helens Bridge…

calling her name 3 times?reminds me of bloody mary.i think its just a myth.its sad what happened to her and her daughters.thanks for the story.
Ghost hunting is supposed to be fun. If you are too chicken, then what is the fun part? As a reader, before I finished reading the story, I lost interest imediately. Why? It is not creepy at all, especially there was nothing there to prove that Helen was there. That is just my opinion.
People dont write these stories to entertain your personal desire. They are stories of actual events, not stories to make you feel creeped out. Next time keep your opinion to yourself..
So you could see nuthin right in front of you but he could see it from far away in the dark? This story is completely made up.
i agree with rosie and super lion.
HMMMM where is helen’s bridge located????
Demons come in all forms. The people that said this story was fake also said that about mine. Demons can be 4 feet tall. where is the location of this story. but here is a thought to the critics.

This doesn’t even sound like a camp fire story. Not scary.
Why does it have to be scary to be true?
Ashley – one of the best things about doing scary things is how much we can scare ourselves! Urban legends always seem to share certain “facts” in common. In your case, the triplicate call for Helen’s appearance meshes with numerous other urban legends and “party games”. Put anyone in a dark setting, in an area that has legends about hauntings, in close proximity to where a true tragedy occured (I’m assuming the story about Helen and her daughter is true and not just another urban legend), and you have more than enough fodder to get your imagination working so diligently that you can actually see and hear things that are not necessarily real. My real concern, however, is that you and your friends put yourselves in an environment where some “not so well meaning” human could have harmed you. I don’t know how old you are but I’m thinking you’re probably fairly young, so I caution you (as I would anyone of any age really) to use common sense when you decide to put yourself in a secluded environment surrounded by “forest”. There are too many real human beings out there that could present real danger to you. Take care…..
