Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

I chose this title for my story because I have had quite a deal of paranormal experiences since the age of 9! I drew a picture of Christ at the age of 15. By 16 I placed the picture in the window of my bedroom after having strange things happen to the picture and to me in the presence of it. My grandmother told me to leave my bible open on the verse St. John 3:16 and place it under my pillow. For a while nothing happened.

My name is John. At 16, I shared a bedroom with my brother and cousin. We had a stereo with a digital clock on the face. We’d leave it on every night, throughout the night. One particular night I woke up at 3:08 am, the Mariah Carey song, Fantasy featuring O.D.B. had just come on. I just laid there staring at the clock and listening and about 20 seconds into the song, the sound faded. It was like someone was purposely turning the volume down. Then I began to hear this chanting, very devilish, demonic type chanting.

Out of fear I went to throw the covers over my head, but found at this time I couldn’t move. I felt like the bed was shaking and I kept hoping it would wake my brother who was sleeping above me in the top bunk. The chanting got louder and more aggressive so I closed my eyes so as not to see what seemed to be approaching me. Once my eyes were tightly shut, it seemed as if the chanting was happening all around me. I was terrified, so I started praying and remembered the bible was under my pillow! Suddenly everything stopped and the radio’s volume increased back to the same level we had it at and the song resumed from the same spot.

I opened my eyes and looked at the clock again, it was exactly 3:16 am! My bible was open to the verse St. John 3:16. It struck me as odd because the ordeal only seemed to last about 30 seconds. I even thought about the song, how could it be at that same part with the time span shown on the clock? I thought logically, while I was having this paranormal experience, the rest of the world wasn’t. So the song played all the way through and with it’s then popularity, someone may have called the station and requested to hear it once more! The only thing I can’t explain is the lapse in time. How could 8 minutes seem like 30 seconds? I could never explain how time either speeds up, slows down, or seems to stand still in the presence of ghost, spirits, and other entities! Always scary!
