Sleep Disorder or Ghosts?

Posted on July 31, 2010

Okay, it’s been a while since I posted anything and this is really more of a question than a story. I have had experiences with what would seem to be ghosts and have definitely had experiences with demons, but this is a whole different thing. Has anyone ever heard of a sleep disorder that makes you hallucinate?

For as long as I can remember I have had “people” “visit” me at night. I wake up and there will be someone standing by my bed, hovering above my bed, or watching me from a doorway. They usually don’t make any noise, but I do remember one particular time I awoke to a girl with long hair yelling “Wake up” while leaning over me.

Some of the funnier visitors I have had include a man in camouflage hovering near the ceiling in one corner of my room, several small hooded “little people” sitting on my bed, a green man running across my bed, and my personal favorite, what appeared to be a monk in a brown cowl/robe(?) showing me the food in his mouth while staring at me from my bathroom!

I have what I assume is RLS because I rub holes in my sheets from moving my feet so much in my sleep and I also talk in my sleep. I am always waking my husband up telling him there is a spider or snake in the bed, or that someone is in the house! I even woke up a few months ago beating my husband with my fists asking him “Why are you in my bed!”

But after these experiences, which are obviously dreams, I always come around quickly and realize I was dreaming. It really doesn’t seem like that, though, when I see my “visitors”.

So, what do YOU think?

Wendy, I’ve had RLS since I was a child, some 40 years. I can’t sleep when it is acting up, If I’m asleep and it starts, I wake up, Sometimes in the middle of the night I get into a hot tub of water to releave it for a while.

I guess what I’m trying to say is maybe RLS is not the reason for the holes in the sheets, Maybe you move a lot when having bad dreams like my husband does, and he gets really wild sometimes and I have to wake him up.

Thats all I’ve got, but, wish you well, and good luck.

Thanks Martha, I have a friend who says if she saw the things i did she would have holes in her sheets too… from running! LOL I dont sleep very sound because of all the excess movement’ of course my legs are in motion even when i am awake, I just cant keep still! :)

martha i have it too. and getting into a tub of hot water does help. i take a medication to help me sleep but before it does it gives me the rls. then i fall asleep, no problem. creeping leg syndrome, is a strange disorder!

Maybe try going to a sleep center or doctor to see if they can prescribe medication to stop this behavior… sleep deprivation is serious… good luck!

ok, im not on drugs so rehab is not gonna help lol and its not as if i sit and have conversations with these people, they are just there for a split-second and then gone. That’s why i wonder about some sort of sleep disorder. Thanks for making me feel nuts though,JK Lol … and to think…i assumed it would be Big Barney that would jump to the conclusion that i was high or crazy! :)

Ok, you are not crazy at all. I have lived in this house for almost 6 years now. I have seen ghost, snakes and what looks like clouds floating around the house at night. I see shadows often. I have NEVER believed in ghost but I do now! Everything that happened before I actually saw the first one about a month ago, I made reasons for the happenings. My daughter yelled out one night around 1:ooam and said ther was someone standing in my door. I made my husband check the house, closets ect. Nothing there, I said you must have been dreaming. About a year later, I woke up and told my husband to get up someone was in our house. He was standing beside our bed. My husband got up and checked everything again I said I must have been dreaming. One night my husband was away and at 2;30 my bedroom light came on by itself. Passed that off to maybe not having the switch all the way down. I saw snakes in my closet and Yelled and screamed. It was daytime bUT my room is very dark. I had 3 men in my room looking for snakes and they never found one. I saw 3. I passed thta off as them getting into the attic because I screamed and scared them away. Well about 3 or 4 weeks later I was asleep and turned over in bed and just happen to open my eyes a saw 2 ghost standing in my door. Now this was most definatley a ghost. A lady with a old timey dress it was big and full. She looked to be from the 18th century. She floated right past my door. Then what looked like a man but all I could see was his skelton. I yelled mark look look at the door and by the time he sat up and said what???? It was gone. I see them floating down the hall at night now and I have seen what looks like snakes climbing the wall. I want to move so bad!!!!

i have a question about my sleep disorder and i think there is a ghost in my house. My mom,dad and i ave had dreams about this girl wearing a long white dress but in my dream it was a teenage girl standing by my moms bed getting closer and closer to me and then i woke up when she touched me, in my dads dream it was a little girl and in my moms dream it was a grown woman. I keep waking up at 4:00 in the morning and this started when the movie “the fourth kind” came out and everytime i would wake up they would put the movie trailer on. At first i didnt pay attention to it but it stopped for a while and ive been waking up at 4:00 am this whole week now, its scaring me i talked to my parents about it and my mom is worried, im just 15 years old and my dad says its because i like watching scary movies, but i dont think its because of that. Can someone please tell me if this is normal im really worried i barely sleep now im only getting like 3 hours of sleep lately and everybody asks me why i look so tired. What can i do about my sleep disorder? were moving out of this house soon i seriously cannot live here anymore we keep hearing stuff and i see things at night and one day i was laying on my bed and my brothers bedroom door just slammed open and he wasnt there, i cant concentrate in school because i barely get any sleep my parents have to sleep with their door open because im so terrified and i know im old enough to sleep by myself but sometimes i have to sleep with my mom in order to get some sleep. Has this happened to anyone? is it just me?
