Ghost Stories & Paranormal Encounters

Hello. I’ve been living in my new house for about eight months now and have been experiencing some strange things. Let me start off by telling you, my father died six years ago on the 21st of this month. I believe that my father and my grandfather (who has now been dead for 32 years) follow my family wherever we go. They don’t really concern me as far as ghosts go. They’ve never bothered me as far as I know, but I know they are there. I have a hard time seeing ghosts, but I can feel their presence. Usually I don’t even know dad or grandpa are there. I’ve lived in haunted houses before and can tell the difference if it is one of them, or something else. And I strongly believe that this is something else.

Before I tell you about my basement, I’m going to tell you that the hallway leading back to my bedroom and my brother’s bedroom and our bathrooms creeps me out. I don’t like being in that hallway even in the day time. However, I can be in the kitchen or living room (both which touch the end of the hallway) and I don’t feel creeped out. I have heard footsteps at night walking in the hall, and also my cousin (who also has a hard time seeing ghosts) has heard them while spending the night. Actually, we thought somebody was breaking into the house. I heard footsteps outside my window, she heard them in the hallway, then I heard them in the hallway. We were going to wake her brother up to go investigate, but they stopped. We have heard the footsteps many other times also.

Another thing that we experience often is a tiny white orb in the corner of our eye. It goes by really fast and that’s all we see of it… First I thought it was just a flake of my mascara catching the light, but both my cousin and her sister have seen it too, even  when the room is dark and nothing can catch the light.

Now, the basement is what concerns me. My cousins and I play a game in my basement, which is basically hide and seek but with the lights off. So obviously, there is very little light in my basement once the lights are out (it is played at night). We often have two teams – girls vs. boys. One night, us girls had to look for the boys hiding. There is a narrow hallway at the back of the basement, which is where we wait for the boys to hide. We then walk out of the long narrow hallway and start looking for them. On the way out of the hallway, my cousin said she thought her boyfriend had started walking back the hallway, but it wasn’t him. Right after she called for him, (which he was not in the hallway at that time), I saw a shadow, I assumed it was a person and it was too dark to see who it was, walk right up to me and as soon as it walked right into me it disappeared. I clearly saw the outline of a person’s head and shoulder, and the shadow blocked all the light from the main part of the basement out. None of the boys were back there and neither of my girl cousins had turned around and started walking towards me (I was in the very back).

This shadow looked to be around my cousin’s boyfriend’s size – 5′ 8″ and of a decent size build. Not fat, just husky. My cousin said she saw the same thing. So I would like somebody’s opinion because it concerns me a bit. I’ve heard about shadow people, and that they are very bad to run across. Also, it is not my daddy because my daddy was 6 feet tall and real skinny. It does not match my grandfather’s description either. Please help?
