My father is a banker, and because of this he gets transferred after every three years. Once he got transferred to Jodhpur. I was very excited as I always wanted to visit Rajasthan. But at the same time I was also sad as I was leaving my most dear friend Revthi. Revthi was my class mate and also my neighbor. We used to go to school together, return back together and many other things. I dont remember that I had ever fought with her.
I remember when I was leaving for Jodhpur Revthis father came to see us. When I asked about her, he said Revthi is very sad because I was going away from her and due to that she got sick. I immediately ran to see her. Revthi was lying on her bed. She was looking very pale. As soon as she saw me she gave me a smile. We chatted for a long time then I went home saying her bye. The next day early morning Revthi was in her fathers arm and she waved her hands indicating bye.
After reaching the new place, joining the new school, I used to miss my best pal very much. One day I asked my father about Revthis family and he didnt say much about them. That night while going to bed instead of praying god which I generally do I was memorizing my days spent with my friend. At night I saw a dream. I saw a lady very beautiful came to me. At that time I was in a garden which was full of flowers. She came and she called me by my name and I just couldnt deny her and started following her with curiosity.
I crossed many lanes among which many were known to me and to many I was a stranger. And suddenly I reached a place which was the gate of a cremation ground and there lied a coffin open. I was afraid as there was no one inside it. And suddenly this beautiful lady started pulling me inside it; I was screaming my heart was beating very fast. Suddenly I saw Revthi rushing towards me and started pulling me away from this lady and in this fight instead of me Revthi falls down into the coffin with this lady. I screamed and opened my eyes and what I saw was really something I couldnt believe. I saw Revthi standing near my foot and waving her hands with a smile on her face and relief and tears in her eyes.
I got scared and screamed. My parents immediately rushed to my room and I told everything to them. My father was quiet. The next morning he told me that after we left our old home, Revthi got more sick and she was no more in this world.
I still now dont understand the reason why I saw her like that. Till now many a times I see her in my dreams, very jolly very cheerful, the same Revthi who I will never forget. I also wonder at times that may be my friend still saved me from unavoidable damage even after her death. Thanks to her.
