Paranormal Experiences in Vietnam

Posted on December 15, 2009

My parents are originally from Vietnam (I was born in Australia) and our family often make trips over there, this experience happened in the village of Can To where my great aunty lives. Her house was situated beside the riverbank and can get very cold at night.

The living room where we spend most of our time, is situated at the back of the house but you could still see the front door. Now, in Vietnam like I’m sure in most developing countries the front door is left open all day during daylight ours and is only closed during the night.

In our culture we usually pray and burn incense on the day that a family member has passed. On that day my parents and siblings (older sis younger bro) went to my great uncles grave to pray because it was his anniversary. I chose to stay at home because I was sick and it was 42C outside. My great aunt and I were sitting in the lounge room watching TV. She was falling asleep when all of a sudden she sat upright. I noticed this and asked what was wrong, she told me she had seen someone walk through the front door and upstairs (the stairs are also situated at the front). Now you must understand my aunt was 89 at the time so I didn’t take her serious, I thought she must have dreamt this and resumed watching TV.

That night me and my siblings shared a room upstairs and I found it very hard to fall asleep and every time I did I would wake up straight away. So on like the 4th time I woke up I decided to go outside for a cigarette. When I was done I walked through the front door to see a little girl run up the last couple of steps of the stairs. Although this girl was clear as day I told myself that I must have still been stoned from the day before and went back to bed.

When I got up the stairs there were a pair of wet footprints outside the room I had been sleeping in. (there was only the one pair of prints not footprints leading to and from the room). In the morning my sis told me that everytime she had fallen asleep she would dream of a little girl opening the bedroom door and just standing there until my sis would be too scared and wake up. We told my aunts neighbour that afternoon and she told us that the owners of the farm across the riverbed lost their little girl when flash flooding occurred a few years back. This is probably the only experience that I have had that I truly believe was paranormal.

Thanks for hiking all the way to share this. That sounds like a very typical haunt right there.
BTW I keep a vietnamese barber! Always ! They can do a proper Fade.
I want to learn veitnamese so I can go in the shop and blow their minds by being fluent, all I know is how to say hello , thank you , and good night.
Oh and I know , how are you and fine and not fine.
Thats about the extent of my vietnamese.

I would think that Nam would be very haunted do the all the wars there for so long, I mean before the US the were the French and the Chinese.

    Hi strwrz
Interesting story but also very sad,This little poor girl , I can see the last moments of her life how was it horrid !! it sounds as she still hung near the place of her tragic death by flood.her faster running & wet footprints explains that she is still around.
Thanks for your sharing your story.

Its been a very long journey, i will say that…..it is hard to write about…. the day she died is embedded in my brain forever….. but, the day will come and i will be with her again!!! That day of August 19, 1993, my life as i knew it ended, i became a different person…… i still have a loving heart, and help a lot of people, but things seem to drag along at times… Im sure my house that i lived in, still has the spirit of her x boyfriend who shot her… long story!!!!
