Ever since I was a child I have always been fascinated by subjects like ancient Egypt and Atlantis. But it always seemed like these places and events were always far away, generally on the other side of the world. America was a newer place and had seen much less history but there were no mysteries, enigmas, or great legends other than those of the Native Americans. For all we knew the land was nothing but wild animals until the native peoples arrived.

As I grew and I read more and more about the world around us I began to discover that America was much older than I had imagined. I read about strange stone formations and structures, artifacts, myths, ancient peoples, and even mummies that all seemed out of place among what was known about America. Not a Ghost Whisperer

I don’t know how, but since I was a little kid, I could see ghosts and other strange spirits or things that my friends or strangers couldn’t. From what I was told, the gift (or curse) has run in the family (mainly on my mom’s side) and it’s not unusual to `see’ or `hear’ things out of the norm.

I’ve never been cool with this because it made me feel like a freak, an outsider to the rest of the world. I never told my best friend, someone I told secrets to and trusted that I could see and hear stuff! I was afraid if I did, then I would have to explain that it wasn’t her or her little sister, or anyone in her family moving or taking her things, but the spirit of a little girl that lived and died in her house 125 years earlier and was trying to get her attention!

I’ve been interested in the Titanic sinking for the past four years, since I was eleven year old, and in my opinion, she was the most beautiful human creation ever. So modern for her age, so luxurious, so fast and most of all, so unsinkable. They called her the Ship of Dreams. After this experience, I can tell her she really was… because she haunts mine.

When I was little, my mom decided she wanted to have another child. I was about 3 years old. My mom got pregnant but when my little sister Katie was born she was very sick and later passed away a month and a half later. So my mom decided that she wanted to try one more time to have a child so that I wasn’t alone. Then when I was 5, my little sister Ashley was born.

A Catalog of Paranormal Stories

I’ve submitted a few stories to this website already; however, I have a few more experiences that for some reason or another I don’t feel merit their own posts respectively. Here goes.

Most of my experiences happened at my guardians home. One such time was when I was home alone around the middle of the day. I was standing in the kitchen eating some cereal when I heard an upstairs door slam shut.  I stood in the kitchen listening intently and a few seconds later a door downstairs slammed shut. Since it was mid-day and not nighttime I felt brave enough to investigate. I wanted to check the entire house and see if there was some reasonable explanation why doors were slamming shut. Creepy Old Man in a Painting

A little background on this story – when I was still in middle school we would take one week-long class trip a year (we called them “Spring Trip”) and we would go places that had relevance to whatever topics we were studying that year. Because class sizes were small, grades 6-8 were taught together for a majority of the classes. Spring trip took all three grades at once.

This particular Spring Trip is one I will never forget. I was in the eighth grade and we were visiting the city of San Francisco. I don’t remember the name of the hotel we were staying in, but I ended up in a room with one of my friends. Over every bed in the place was what appeared to be a painting of an elderly man in wire-rimmed glasses. In his hands was a lady’s heeled boot and he appeared to be sitting inside of a workshop, like he made boots.

The Suburban Hallway Wanderer

My grandparents bought a block of land in the mid 1950′s in Sydney Australia. They build a brand new modest 2 bedroom home on the property, they lived in the house with my father who was an only child. My grandparents worked often so my father was home alone most of the week. A few times during his childhood my father would see a dark tall figure walking down the hallway, he asked his mother about it but she completely dismissed the story. Then after my eldest brother was born my mother was sitting in the living room with him adjacent to the hallway. The living room doorway was covered by 2 glass doors, my mother felt as if there was someone near her she turned and saw a shadowy figure pass by the glass doors, she scooped up my brother and ran after it, all she could see was this dark full colored cloud disappear into thin air.

I Know Who That Tall Shadow Was

This is the second story I’ve sent in… by the way, thanks for all the kind comments on my other one… and this one is a lot more of a positive sighting than just a feeling.

My daughter, I mentioned her in my first story, lost her uncle in November of ’08, and we still don’t know exactly what happened to him. He was 27 years old, had everything going for him, but on that night my girl found him dead on the living room sofa. She was 7 years old and I worry about the effect that will have on her forever.

The autopsy report said drug overdose… but he wasn’t on drugs and he did not commit suicide. Some funny stuff had been going with people who didn’t like him much, but we’ll probably never know what really happened. All we know is he’s gone and we love him and miss him every day.

Ouija Board: Empirical Evidence Experiment

Purpose of this article:

The purpose of this paper is to provide a ready-made, simple experiment (most anyone can carry out) that aims to verify the validity of a certain paranormal activity.

Question:

When using a Ouija board is it possible to determine if the “entity” has access to knowledge the participants don’t? Specifically, can the “entity” obtain knowledge about the physical surroundings around the participants that the participants don’t know themselves? Also, if the “entity” can supply correct answers to questions posed to it that the participants don’t know the answers to themselves, does this imply that an actual “entity” exists?

He Came to Say Goodbye

My uncle and I were very close, well he wasn’t really my uncle, he was my mom’s best friend growing up. They even dated. But they lost touch for a while and when I was 14 (I’m just about 21 now) we got in touch, and we became best friends. If I had a problem with anything I would just hop on the computer and he would be there like waiting for me.

Paranormal Experiences in Nursing Assisted living Home

I used to work in a nursing/assisted living home for over a year and a half loved the job since the day I got it. The residents were awesome and so were the people I worked with. The home was big and had three sections in the building. In the front of the building was long term care, where the residents who need the extra care stayed, if you go down the elevator you would be entering personal care, which is the department that all the dementia and difficult patients used to say in. If you take a walk over to the next area they are the assisted living, people who can take care of them self but are either lonely or would like the little extra help.
