The story I am about to tell you is completely true, and though you may not believe it, I am still confused and scared over what happened.
I went over to my best friend Leena’s house in early evening. It only started happening when it got dark. Leena’s parents were currently in town, coming home in a few hours. I was with Leena and her sister, Amanda. Amanda is sixteen (now and then) years old. Though Amanda is older, she likes to hang out with us sometimes.
We decided to do some crazy makeovers on each other. When we were done, Leena and I went to the upstairs bathroom to wash it off, Leena gave a bright purple washcloth that she only had one of (that detail will make sense later). We washed off the makeup and watched half an hour or so of television. Then Amanda attacked me with whip cream, spraying it all over my face, and I had to wash it again.
Both Leena and I went up to the same bathroom we used earlier. I went in to the cupboard where they kept the washcloths. There was that exact same purple washcloth, completely dry and folded neatly back in the cupboard. Amanda hadn’t been in that washroom and she definitely didn’t dry it and put it back in the time we watched television because most of the time, Amanda was watching with us. Leena and I were freaked out, but tried to ignore it.
We decided to play hide n seek (childish, I know) together in the dark. Leena and I took a flashlight from a shelf in the pantry and played around with the flashlight. Then Amanda complained that it was unfair for us to have a flashlight and not her. So, we gave her the flashlight and played a few more rounds.
We took a break to have a snack and I remember tampering with the flashlight a bit then setting it on the dining room table. We ate our snacks in the kitchen. We decided to play one more round. Amanda wanted to be it again and told me to get the flashlight. When I went in to the dining room, the flashlight wasn’t on the same table. I went in to the pantry and sure enough, it was placed on exact same shelf as before. Nobody had left the kitchen to put the flashlight away. I was sure of it.
I brought the flashlight to Amanda and only told Leena what happened. She shrugged it off, but was getting as scared as I was. We played anyways. Leena and I hid in the garage together, which was pitch black. The radio was on in the garage and we figured her dad had accidently left it on. So, to fight off our fright, we played the guitar to the rock music. Amanda called and said she gave up, so we came out of our hiding spot and found her in the kitchen. She wanted to know where we were. We showed her the spot we were hiding in the garage but much to Leena and my horror, the radio was off. We were so scared. We told Amanda but she didn’t believe us and laughed.
As we left the garage, I saw a shadow on the ground. I continued to feel watched and uncomfortable until Leena’s parents came home. Up to this day, I can’t forget how creepy it was. I know one thing for sure, we had some ghostly help keeping the house in perfect order.
